Several members of Libya’s mission to the United Nation, including the deputy ambassador, have today called on Gaddafi to resign. They also appealed to the U.N. to take action to prevent genocide by Gaddafi’s mercenary forces. When the imminent uprising in Ethiopia starts, will the Meles regime’s top diplomat at the U.N., Tekeda Alemu, take a similar action. He has no choice if he wishes to redeem himself. Otherwise, he will have the blood of Ethiopians on his hand and he will be hunted down for the rest of his life. * Libya’s ambassadors at the United Nations are calling for leader Moammar Gaddafi to step down as the country’s ruler. Deputy Ambassador Ibrahim Dabbashi said on Monday that if Gaddafi does not relinquish power, “the Libyan people will get rid of him.” Dabbashi urged the international community to impose a no-fly zone over Libya to prevent mercenaries, weapons and other supplies from reaching Gaddafi and his security forces. – NDTV
* Two high-ranking Libyan air force pilots have who fled to Malta in their aircraft are reported to have told officials they escaped rather than carry out orders to bomb civilians. The officers defected as Libyan diplomats in several countries and international organisations resigned in protest at the regime’s violent response to the deepening crisis. I watched this gutless political opportunist for a long time and I am convinced, I don’t expect him to change. I will count, however, on the Ethiopian public, after the removal of Weyane, to pay him his due. As to his families, they must be given therapy and do some volunteer task in the armed forces before they are allowed to hold any public office. The beginning should start here. All ambassadors should ask for asylum until the go back so they should resign. Then this should be followed by all diaspora setting a date for uprsing to take place. The protest should be at the Un headquarter. The message is “every nation deserves freedom, we are part of the North AFrican liberation movement, every nation has an obligation to support us”. Then this is to be followed by uprisings in strong hold areas of the Oromos Ogadens and Amhara. The message should be we are united as one. Then this should come to Addis Ababa. Don’t start the protest in Addis Ababa. A protest that only asks for Amharas to uprise will never work. Please diapora include all the forgotten people of Ethiopia including the oromos and ogaden. Make the message clear. What we want is the birth of new culture. One man one vote.
