ECADF owner admits Col. Fitsum receives bribe

A desperate attempt is currently going on to cover up the crimes that have been committed against Ethiopian patriots in Eritrea in the hands of Col. Fitsum and his Ethiopian collaborators in the Diaspora. One of the colonel’s collaborators is an Internet discussion forum in Patalk.com called ECADF.

When reports about the disappearance of Col. Tadesse Muluneh and several other former and current members of the Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front (EPPF) have surfaced recently, ECADF has taken a lead role in trying to cover up the crime by trying to impugn Ethiopian Review’s credibility and trash-talking its editor.

Last night, confronted with some angry Ethiopians, the head of the ECADF admin had a meltdown. Trembling and resorting to vulgarity and ethnic slur, he tried to explain what happened to the 17 fighters who have reportedly been executed following EPPF’s general assembly in February 2010.

In his bizarre cover up attempt, the ECADF head admin has admitted that Col. Fitsum has been accepting bribes from Ethiopians in Diaspora. He said that when a person named Selamhunu was sent to EPPF to deliver money collected from the Diaspora, he gave it to the Eritrean colonel instead. Listen below [forward to 07:45]

The ECADF head admin has also said that according to his investigation, the 17 EPPF fighters who have reportedly been executed by Col. Fitsum, are alive and that they might have went to Sudan or some unknown place. The ECADF admin, who claims to have close contacts with the EPPF leadership, is contradicting EPPF’s own statement that was sent to the media yesterday and posted on ECADF’s own web site, which says that the organization doesn’t know the fighters. None of the ECADF admins has visited EPPF. In fact, most of the ECADF admins claim to be active members of another political party. So why are they desperately trying to cover up Col. Fitsum’s crimes against Ethiopian patriots?

  6. Why are the Ethiopians cannibalizing each other? If Col.Fitzum took bribe from anyone, then he is in deep trouble. Bribe is not tolerated in Eritrea. But as far as I understood from Elias’s articles, there seem to be power struggle among the EPPF cadres and supporters in diaspora. I don’t think the GoE or col.Fitzum have any interest in meddling in internal affairs of any so called freedom fighters.
    A few days ago Elias wrote “TPDM on a short leash…” but TPDM were engaged with a Woyane in battle in Afar region. What happen with the leash? Did it snap?

    First, thanks Elias for the audio. I do follow Ethiopian politics in the form of reading news papers, internet, radio and tv I have never been to a paltalk or any serious stuff. Never participated in Ethipian politics because I have not recovered yet from what I witnessed during the revolution with my little child’s eyes. In my view it was one of the most dirty politics. As a student of political science I can’t analyze Ethiopian politics and I better leave the analysis part to psychoanalysts.
    I can tell you that what I have heard on this audio from the paltalk did refresh my bad memory from childhood of the revolution. This man uses vulgar language that is similar to what street vagabonds or ghetto boys use. I will tell you one thing and that is I prefer woyane to stay in power for ever than these type of people take over. He is not only disrespecting Elias but the entire listener. He doesn’t seem to have a proper upbringing and his hatred and disrespect goes further by insulting not woyane but Tigres. I am really disturbed by what I heard and it really is sad to hear from grown ups such idiocy. I hope people like these never go back to Ethiopia for they are Ethipia’s trashes. Always idiots expose themselves.

  11. Why don’t you leave it alone, Elias. It is not worth the blood of any more Ethiopians to highlight your innocence. Eritrea is a cause way beyond you. Focus instead on the Annuak struggle for example and be a brotherly advocate for those who deserve it. If you think you have an obligation to give voice for certain friendly Eritreans then do so by including certain appropriate news coverage. Please becarefull not to bring about another labyrinth of troubling wind and thus inherit the curse yourself. The north in general do not deserve any advocacy, sympathy or even attention because they dominate Ethiopia, they screw up Ethiopia to be precise, and as it is, they do not need your help; they have been helping themselves for decades in case you have not noticed, of the north, the “boiling kettle tiping southwards”. ECADF has been misused and rundown by these kind of half cast shabians like enndelbu and an illitrate right wing racist old journalist ,Muyaye.where are the descent smart dudes like arat kilo,hizb balew,metages,Janamora,Harar and others who are truely Ethiopians and their view is more of embracing and commonsense.I was a regular member of ECADF and still like most of the folks,however,this gives me a final chapter to this pal room which has been hijacked by shabia for long.Qale will be my place if it stops it’s regular bashing of G7.If not bye bye paltalk.

  18. It is sad and extremely disappointing that, this significant disagreement between Ethiopians, gives great amount of pleasures to the killers and looters of our people — Woyanes and Al Moudi. And God knows, they live and work 24/7 to create quarrels, fights and disagreements between Ethiopians and our political parties.   19. Talking straight is a very scare commodity in the Ethiopian political establishment and this is another testimony of that legacy. Disinformation and lies techniques of past political life are the main obstacles which kept and still are keeping the Ethiopian people hostage of poverty and backwardness. What makes this latest experience very sad is when someone who is expected to be enlighten enough to be a guideline for openness and bringing people together is caught in the middle of that miserable act of disinformation to once again harm the very people whom he claims to stand and fight for is very tragic indeed.

    Colonel Ftsum or what ever his name is the name given to the Eritrean government and all this game is to run away from taking responsibility. Blaming Eritrean government would set someone free from taking the hard work to make it through the hardship that organisation is going through. So it is advisable to say Eritrean government instead of Colonel Ftsum

  21. Elias, you made a good point when you questioned the level of G7 operatives involvement in EPPF affairs. It would be interesting to investigate if known G7 man endelbu is doing his interference under the direction of G7 leaders.

    It raises a bigger question: Is Ginbot 7 sabotaging EPPF and, if so, why? Is Ginbot 7 competing for diaspora funds? Or does it have conflicting objective with EPPF?

    Why Ginbot 7 letting its cyber operatives like endelbu loose on Ethiopians whose only crime is asking for the whereabouts of fellow Ethiopians?

    1, he related Elias with mengistu H/mariam. what a clueless bull, what in the world did he mean by this? Mengistu is known for his cruelty & bloodshed… and how could you relate Elias or any Ethiopian who never been in such position with mengistu? Doesn’t this exactly fit in his category of ” ከ እንቅልፉ እየባነነ የሚፅፈው ” ? It seems to me this bull doesn’t even know what he has been doing for almost a decade. For a foreigner or an Ethiopian who doesn’t know Ethiopia or mengistu, calling someone mengistu might show their expression of hate or cruelty but to come-out of a person who claims is fighting for Ethiopia is very troubling.

    2, He questioned Elias’s journalism to know the whereabouts of EPPF as a “personal ego” saying as ” Elias wanted them to come-out of their war fronts and answer his question”. ባንድ ድንጋይ ሁለት ወፍ endemilut, to the opposite, he spits two nonsenses with one:

    first where and what kind of fronts is he talking about? The whole reason of these questioning and confrontations is since EPPF, in their 10 years stay in eritrean soil were never being allowed to perform a single attack on weyane. Yes, 10 years of being a fighter in the most harmouse place and with the wrong people is very differnt from 10 years of ECADF gossiping but they were never being allowed to go to the fronts because of these agasses like solomon and ecadf. Secondly, if caring for Ethiopians, in such very respectable and well-crafted essay by elias for such horror crimes and questioning to who ever is behind it is for “personal ego”, what would we call this person’s gossips with every possible insults he can find in the dictionary and bringing very unrelated issues such us elias’s father and even protecting alamudin just to attack one person?

    Overall, It seems that either this person is behind the mass murder of the fighters or this gold digger depends on shabia money which is off-coarse from the labor and blood of all the fighters in eritrean soil.   34. It is very sad to hear this conversation, all that has been said is revealing. It speaks volume about media competion, organizational rivalery, and role confusion. I am very disappointed about what I hear in this talk. We Ethiopians need leaders who can serve without expecting any thing in return from the public.
    I must add not every individual is called to leadership postion.There is always division of labor and areas of expertise where people can contribute to the cause.I like to see the journalist be content with his reporting profession and doing her/his utmost in that area, A military expert a strategic planner, a political commissioner in deplomacy.It looks as though we are faced with internal bleeding and it needs a doctor to stop this mayhem now.

    It is commendable for ECADF to dissociate it self from the rude and stupid individual such as Enddelbu despicable use of words.     Let us calm down. It is very easy to divide our people because Weyane and Shaebia have infiltrated our community. Articles posted should really be backed investigated throughly before judgment because this is going to once again is going to divide our community over and over again as a result making our people suffer for long. I urge people to calm down and do your homework before talking negative one group over the other. For instance if our concern is EPPF fighters, there should be further investigation before accusing anyone even if we have suspicion the reason being if EPPF fighters are still alive, our negative criticism could again put them in jeopardy.

  49. Eliase, after few assesments, few years ago i convinced myself by the fact we Ethiopians couldn’t manage democracy and success. So we deserve poverity and undemocratic government who can shoot as if we trespass. This guy on the ECADF is a living witness for my conclusion, u c he is in a democratic country but never civilized and couldn’t able to behave as human.
    am really sorry for him, this is too much to handle
