Aba Diabilos launches a campaign to save his statue

Aba Diabilos aka Aba Paulos or Ato Gebremedhin Boycott of alms by followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church (EOTC), following the erection of Ato Gebremedhin’s (formerly Aba Paulos, aka Aba Diabilos) statue in Addis Ababa, has forced priests and bishops throughout the country to rebel against the TPLF cadre who clams to be patriarch. Last week, several bishops who are members of the Church’s administrative decision making body (the synod), after weeks of arguing and debating, voted to dismantle Gebremedhin’s statue. Gebremedhin has refused to sign the minutes that contain the decision, and instead this week he went on a tour to various monasteries in Ethiopia to find statues of religious leaders to make a case that he is not the first to have a statue. He has also scheduled a trip to Egypt to find statues of religious leaders. His paid supporters have begun distributing a petition against the synod’s decision.

Meanwhile, EOTC followers continue to withhold alms until the statue comes down, drying up the Church’s income. There is also a strong movement within the church leadership inside the country, led by Abune Samuel and many others, to oust Gebremedhin, who is being accused of grave misconducts such as maladministration, corruption, nepotism, and behavior unbecoming of a patriarch.

  2. This QULETAM cadre is getting what he deserves. He should be ousted at once, he does not represent the pilgrims of Ethiopia. He likes Beyonce shaking her booty, he likes beautiful Ethiopian women and he enjoys hard liquor almost everynight. He is an imposter, and he must be held and brought to court for all the crimes he has committed against regular Ethiopians.

  4. Let this serve as a good indication that how much power the people have. Weyane can also be debacled in the same way. Keep on agitating the people to work in the manner to overthrow Weyane.

I have a profound faith in our holy Archbishops, Bishops and the clergy at large at home as well as the monks in the holiest monastries in Ethiopia that they would do the right thing and as they have done the right thing trhough out the existence of the church for more than 1700 years now. The church is the last remaining guard against moral decay, despotism and unparalleled corruption in Ethiopia. The holy Synod just concluded its meeting and has rebuked Abune Paulos for the statue being erected in his likness but Abune Paulos informed the Holy synod that he wasn’t aware of the statue being erected at St. Mikael’s court yard in Addis Ababa. At any event, if it is true that he is advocating for the statue to remain erected (undestroyed), such an act is unbecoming of an Ethiopian high priest and endangers the moral as well as the doctorinal tenets of our beloved church and for us, the ardent followers it would be unacceptable.

One of the architects of abay tigray or dominance of tigray tigrigni in all of Ethiopian institutions be it political,financial or religious is Aba Diablos or the meles nominated Ethiopian top religious leader.This tribal individual has never been a spiritual leader.Simply he is another crook weyane politician under the banner of patriarch throne.
    One of the biggest insult on Ethiopians by weyane”s gangsta is the life time nomination of aba diablos as E.T.O.C patriarch.During the slaughter of the innocent civilians in Addis,in 2005 he not only endorsed the killings,he actually sent his followers exclusively tigrayans to spy on political activists and hand them to the brutal Agazi killing squads.

    ስለዚህም ዋነው መረዳትና ማየት ያለብን ትልቁን ምስል ማየት ነው፡፡ትልቁም ምስል የአቶ መለስና ወያኔ ታሪካዊ አመጣጥ ተፈጥሮአዊ ባህሪና ከበስተጀርባ ይዘው የተነሱበት ድብቅ አላማቸውና ፍላጎታቸው ምንድን ነው የሚለው ነው፡፡

  15. I wish the statue is left alone. We have abuna petros’s statue to remind us and honor a great Ethiopian patriot and a religious leader who died while protecting his country and people. On the other hand, we will have a statue of a “religious leader” who stood for disintegration, racism and myriads of unholy acts. it will always remind us the dark days in our country.

    Gabramadhin,the devil was born and breed in the wild;he had ice-cold life.As his satanic statue crumbled to the ground,he too,will go down.Amen.
