  1. One word: WOW!!!
The message is sincere and captivating at the same time.
It clearly shows how enmity does not fit well among us all.
Just as long as we can trust each other we can overcome anything.

  2. A timely message to the peoples of Ethiopia and Eritrea! Let us not kid ourselves for, at the end of the day, it is us that we had to suffer and primarily we have no body to blame but ourselves. Think about it, if we are working together for the benefit of BOTH of our peoples, there is no force that can take advantage of us. Yes, there are very powerful entities that can destroy our countries in a matter of minutes. But, they will NEVER destroy our spirit and I am hoping that spirit is the willing to survive against all odds. It has happened before and there is no earthly reason why it wouldn’t happen again. But we have to work for it. Let’s do it before it is too late and we have to do some painful explanation to our daughters and sons who may have to live in the misery or fortitude we leave them with.

  3. Long live the Ethiopian and Eritrean people’s friendship. As always, we will live together and support each other no matter what.

May peace and justice reign in the Horn of Africa

  4. I watched this video before and the message was clear and to the point. We Need Eritrea more than ever. They are not afraid to tell us we are weak, we need help. It is true, we are weak and we need help! Our weakness is hurting them bad. What is keeping us from getting help? The artificial hate in our heart which solidified with decades of propaganda. No one gave Eritreans their independence, they earned it with 100 thousands of lives. For long time we blamed TPLF for letting Eritrea go, this is far from the truth. Does it make sense to dehumanize those groups who are betrayed by TPLF like us, the people of Eritrea. Eritrean people attacked by TPLF and Ethiopians. We Ethiopians supported and gave green light to TPLF so they get us Assab. People died from both sides. Are we hang up on having port of our own or do we want to work with Eritrea for the benfit of both people? Assab was a wishful thinking in a first place. We will never have lasting peace taking land by force specially from Eritrea, people who have spent all their lives defending their land. The world recognize Eritrea, so should we. US and UK are doing everything they can to cover up the dirt of TPLF while we are sitting on our thumb waiting them to give us our freedom. In a year or so the famine, the genocide , corruption and abuse will be history for Westerners and we will be left with TPLF to abuse us under the cover of democracy. When Somalian opposition force (ARS) open office in Asmara, we all think it is a proxy gimick by Shaebia. That office have overcome many obstacles because Shaebia has not changed their stand under extreme pressure from US, including to be labeled sponsors for terrorism. That should count for something, pinciple. Would they do it for us. Why not? They stood by them and now they are close to lirate their country. And they will. We have weaker opponents because we already won by accepting help from Eritrea. The minute the Ethiopian opposion organize in Asmara, there will be a volcanic eruption of freedom movement in Ethiopia, not to mention the solid ground friendship it will create for both countries . We will be fools not to grab their hands, there is no shame in asking help from your little sister. Our oromo brothers and sisters, OLF, did acknowledge the benefit of brotherhood long time a go. The parlament members who know about the whole deal of TPLF first hand have defected to Eritrea. I saw par lament members from Gondar, oromia, Gojam. They are the chosen people of Ethiopia and decided to defect to Eritrea :It speaks volume. We need to go and talk to them in Asmara. They are more organized than any oppsition in Ethiopia in every aspect: media, arm struggle and Asmara base( no struggle is successful with out solid base). We all have to be together for the benefit of ETHIOPIA and Eritrea. lets unit time is not in our side. Go-7.
Please educate me why we shouldnt associate with Shaebia.
    Regards,

  5. Interesting piece. Im slowly starting to be aware and impressed by the way the youth in that country are encouraged to embrace and be sympathetic to their neighbours instead of our youth who are being fed lies and made to fear and hate everyone by our brutal and tribal junta in Addis.

  6. My confidence, that weyane will be history soon, grows everyday now. Especially when I am exposed to such articulated invite to join hands from an Eritrean bro/sis.
I understand full well the Eritreans problem and they understand us just as well. Our problem seems to be just 1: weyane the cancer of the horn.

I for myself, accept your extended hand and I thankyou for a touching experience!

We should also stay brothers after weyane is gone!!

    Tadele Gizaw

  7. I almost broke into tears with the 2 young girls holding each other. Very touching and truly genuine.
We only really do have each other you know? It makes sense to ferment a relationship which will bear fruit not for only the near future but also for lasting generations. We must stem the enmity and nip it by the bud while we have a chance right now. The people of both nations have to start being responsible for their own mutual relationships. Respect and love one another.
We have now a situation where Eritreans are extending their hand to help us Ethiopians in this dire times of the reign of weyane. We as Ethiopians need to “swallow our pride” and accept this help that is urgently needed; if we are to ever regain our country from the dogs weyane.

  8. For a long time I was inclined to shun any Eritran involvement in our Ethiopian affairs. That belief only stemmed from my distorted perspective I harbored towards Eritreans. Since I have witnessed what weyane has done to both peoples of Eritrea and Ethiopia indiscriminately, I am left with no choice but to understand the truth. The truth that Eritreans are victim of weyane’s atrocity just like us, is more than evident when I personally witnessed the inhumane deportation of thousands of Eritreans and the advent war that was unleashed in the name of territorial integrity. It was hog wosh then and its hogwash now..i.e the land given away to Sudan on the western enclave recently is a clear testament to weyane’s callous regard for Ethiopia.

The ball is now on Ethiopians court…We have to rise up to the call and push on this natural course of relationship with our brothers in Eritrea.

I look forward to this lasting and just cause!
    God bless Ethiopians and Eritreans.

  9. Who is hurting the people of the horn of Africa? It`s not Eritreans but it`s the TPLF.Can the people of Ethiopia,Somalia and the entire of the horn afford to live another year under Meles and his Woyannes?I don`t think so.We,Somalis are very greatful to our Eritrean brothers and sisters for their unconditional support in our fight to regain our dignity and country back from the savage TPLF.

  10. It is no secret that Woyanne’s plan is to rule Ethiopia by force for as long as they can and if that doesn’t work balkanize Ethiopia and break it up into its constituent parts by ethnicity and religion. Woyanne would have been friends with Eritrea if the Eritrean government was going to get along with their plan, back in 1991 the then EPLF told the Woyanne leadership to work for a united Ethiopia and not divide the country into ethnic enclaves, instead Woyanne decided to do the opposite.

The Eritrean government supports a united Ethiopia because ethnic divisions will not lead to prorgress in the long run. None of the liberation fronts in Ethiopia wants to create an ethnic government, the OLF, ONLF, EPPF, SLM, TPDM and the Debub Hizboch movement all want a united Ethiopia where all the people are given equal rights. The unity of these movements and the addition of the G7 movement should establish a united front headquartered in Asmara and you will see Woyanne running like mad dogs in no time. All that is left is the ground work among Ethiopians to organize and not fall for hate games played by detached false Ethiopian nationalists who distort the truth and demonize Eritreans. The good thing is the majority of Ethiopians are starting to open their eyes and not falling for the old hate propaganda. It is only a matter of time before a principled friendship is cemented between Ethiopians and Eritreans for the good of our people who suffering because of Woyanne and the fools who keep on demonizing the Eritrean people for no good reason at all.

  11. Eritreans have big heart! Compare all the eritreans that used to live in Addis and other Ethiopian cities, they were known for the ingunuity, generousity and for being honest and hardworking. Now compare those all Eritrean bussinessman with the current wseyane mosquitos-who suck the blood of Ethiopians. Those nueva riche-of weyqane nature came with bare foot to Addis Abeba now they own everything and sending their kids to the best private schools in Addis-Go to Sanford, Lecee, italian, indian national and other schools it is filled with kids of the looteres weyanes!
I grew up among many eritreans in Addis and they were all nice people and I dearly miss them. But weyanes could separate the Eritreans fromt heir Erthiopian borhters and sisters look all those Ethiopian restuarnats-they are always filled with Eritreans- weyanes dont spend money anyways-the only people who hate eritreans are weyanes and weyane-lovers who are benefititng from this blood suckers.
ERITREANS ARE GOOD PEOPLE AND WE ETHIOPIAN LOVE YOU BACK! AND INVITE ALL MY ER FRIENDS TEDI AFEROS “DAHLAK LAY LESERA BETIE” AND LAMBADINA SONGS! I HOPE ONE DAY I COULD GO HAVE FUN THE RED SEA WHILE ERITREANS ROAM FREELY IN THE CITY THE LUV THE MOST ADDIS ABEBA- AYZOH BENIAM, AYZOSH FEVEN AND ALL OTHER MY ERITREAN ABERO ADEGOCHIE WE REUNITE AGAIN WHEN WEYANE GOES BACK WHERE THEY COME FROM I.E, MISERY AND BEGGING!!

  12. It sounds a marvelous idea. Unity is strength. Divided we are, we are clumsy and easily fall. Yes, but I-for-one is a bit skeptic with the current both leaderships being put in place. Both peoples do strongly need the unity and it would indeed be highly beneficial for both of us if we re-unite again(once and for all) but the guys in the ivory tower don’t for all practical reasons. And that’s typical of the African leaders in our unfortunate continent. Recollecting how Derg was perished with the ever huge force it had (over 400,000 well equipped armed forces) I’d not overrule the possibilities. It was the oppressed people in the back ground that facilitate either ways – the FALL and RISE no matter what.

I sincerly wish good luck to both countries in the pursuit of unity and prosper.

  13. Those heroes and heroines of EPPF shall remain in my mind till my death. Did you see the beautiful tattoo on her neck? Do the women fighters look metropolitan to you? They are making history while some of us, instead of supporting them, are trying to divert the righteous path they are taking. With God’s help we shall win over the diabolical Woyanies. Keep on marching EPPF!

  14. I am very hopeful of this Ethiopian and Eritrean relationship. You see we need to understand each-other’s wound if we are to have a lasting ties. We need to respect each-other and learn what it is that will keep us close instead of concentrating on our differences.
We have so much in common it is natural to lean on one another when in need.

These are exciting times for us all and a daunting period for the weyanes.
Cheers my Eritrean and Ethiopian brothers and sisters!

  15. The pictures really have powerful message.Ethiopians and Eritreans were good friends but leaders from both sides are not willing to be in peace and that is why the horn of Africa is still in war.
Peace for Africa especially to the Eastern part(Ethiopia,Eritrea,Somalia and Sudan)

  16. Eritrea your patience is bearing a fruit . our Ethiopian brothers and sisters are starting to knock the hard rock hatred which was implanted by heinous woyanie in between this two brotherly people.the woyanie junta was so spiteful about Eritreans for no apparent reason but greed and inferiority.

this bunch of malevolent group of people from dedebit were the worst thing to happen to the brave people of Ethiopia and Eritrea on this modern era .the tears of Eritreans and Ethiopians seems to getting an answer now . this is the best opportunity we ever got to throw the bloody woyanie to the rubbish bin . god and the truth is with us . and hopefully it would be the last for the western evils to divide the people of the horn for their own interest. WE THE HORN PEOPLE SHOULD BE UNITED MORE THAN ANY TIME to get rid off the evil west and its horse woyanie . to enjoy our very political and economical freedom and liberty.

  17. no freedom comes without a drop of blood…. the region had bled far too much. we now need a forward thinking leaders who lay a foundation for our generations to come. Both Eri and Ethio are brothers and sisters, we need to put our differences and look for a brighter future…. do i sound like a local priest!!! i am sad things will get bad to worse.

  18. I am so touched by the messages in the video. All I can say is that God Bless Eritreans. “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. Eritreans has exibited more than often that they are truly our brothers and sisters not by words but by their deeds. Again, May the Almighty bless them for Eternity.

    Amantu

  19. I watched the video not less than seven times. What can I say, Elias strikes me as a very honest person. Except for the woyane I find the peoples of the horn peoples with great integrity. Good job Elias!

  20. every body kows we ethiopians and eritreans love each other we have seen a lot of exampels, lets work hard to make it beter specialy for our childeners god bless us.

  21. Quite a powerful message enveloped within a few minutes. We are so much alike its inevitable that we are destined to be close. I have hope we will bond with our Eritrean brothers with ease and much trust. I enjoyed it very much and thanks for the experience Elias.

  22. I don’t know what to say. I am an Eritrean, deeply touched by the above 100% positive comments and still to come more comments. We Eritreans will always support you.

I am specially touched by comment #4 (GOOD BUT…). Everyone should read it, and if it is possible I would ask Ato Elias to post it as an article. Well done “Good But…”

Long live Erthio-Eritrea relationship, remember our relations dates way back to the creation of the World and has never been broken and will never be broken, though, many tried to break by failed.

I love you all deki Eri and Ethiopia.
    Peace for Arica.

  23. Ethiopians, you have a lot to learn from Eritreans. Shaebia was created by the youth who would not tolerate injustices. They set a goal of freeing ALL Eritreans not only from the rulers but also from social injustices such as poverty, illiteracy, etc. and they never took the easy or short path. It has not been easy and ALL Eritreans have paid bitter sacrifices but they have never been deterred from this goal to this day, even though a lot has been tried by 3 successive regimes and 2 world super powers who supported them.

As such, don’t expect cooperation from the government of Eritrea if your struggle is only for this or that ethnic group. It has to be all inclusive of ALL peoples of Ethiopia. You don’t have to see your neighbors as enemies and try to compete with them or eliminate them. Think of them as your partners in advancing the neighborhood forward together to the benefit of all. First things first, we have to free the neighborhood of servants (kedemti) such as woyane, the Somalian TFG, etc. that are serving the interest of outsiders.

But that’s probably going to be the easy part. The hard part will be unifying all the different peoples who never felt united to begin with and has become even worse now with woyane’s callous campaign of division. There are a lot of recent examples inside Ethiopia. And many Ethiopians still believe Eritrea attacked Ethiopia because it wanted to take Badme by force, even though they know woyane is the biggest lier in history. Such is the power of propaganda.

As Elias likes to say, think outside the box.

  24. The message from Eritreans to Ethiopians is loud and clear. and it has been the same for a long time. It says: ‘We wish for nothing but the best for Ethiopia. We will stand by you and help you get rid of this evil called Woyane, which is wreaking havoc and death not only within Ethiopia, but all around it, if only you would let us. Together let us get rid of this curse of the African Horn and we can all flourish and prosper together’. The message cannot be any simpler or more sincere. As an Eritrean, I hope most, if not all, Ethiopians will see it for what it is.

  25. I lived with eritreans my whole life. I have no doubt they are very nice people. We are one people with two governments. No one in this world is closer to us. However, at this time, I don’t want to hear any word from the “educated” eritreans who are poisened with hate and would never wish any good for us. Not in my life time. In future, may be. I see this type of message as “Yeazo Enba”

  26. The only people who are against cooperating with our other half, the Eritreans, must be blind to the detriment that weyane has put Ethiopians through. He or she is an outright supporter of this regime plain and simple. I am even more astounded when Ethiopians give ear to weyane’s talk of shaebia this shaebia that…weche gud..wasn’t it weyane itself that trotted on shaebia’s back on its way to Addis. So please spare me the diatribe..I actually think, “..What is good for the goose, Is STILL GOOD FOR THIS GOOSE!!”
I am all for cooperating with anyone that is willing to help us get rid of our # ONE problem! weyane’s atrocities are real, vivid and bold so how can we, as patriots, let anything cloud us from finding the remedy to our cancer that is spreading and endangering Ethiopia’s future as a nation.
We need to stop with this wishy washy attitude and focus on our primary goals.
Peace and Love to my Ethiopian AND Eritrean brothers and sisters!
