Ethiopians suspected to be victims of a human trafficking racket, were discovered on Wednesday at a bungalow on the outskirts of Nairobi.
The 41 men were found in a secluded house about three kilometres from Ngong Town. The quiet compound had no sign of life except for the caretaker, who could barely speak English or Kiswahili said: “Nobody here, nobody no English no Swahili.”
However, he opened the gate and letting the journalists into the house. At first he was certain he had succeeded in misleading the journalists until the reporters peeped through the windows and saw the men lying on the floor heaped on each other.
There were more than 100 plates and cups in the kitchen which is at the entrance and two big charcoal stoves stood there, evidently showing they were recently used for cooking.
Watched in horror
The room in which they were crammed together, also served as the entertainment hall for the young men who were visibly weak and distraught. At one end of the room is a TV set and a DVD player.
A few scattered compact discs were strewn all over the place as they watched in horror as journalists took pictures. Some of their colleagues were fast asleep and did not even wake during the entire time.
The caretaker who gave his name as Bastin Yahanis said that he was expecting a vehicle that normally brings food from Ngong Town. He gave the a phone number of the man he claims is his boss who operates in Eastleigh area.
The boss, a Mr Dahir who talked to the journalists on phone said he would come to the house. But an hour later, he said he was at Karen and will not come after all.
“Go put the information in the media – all newspapers and television and radio stations… after all am helping them,” said Mr Dahir and then switched off his phone.

Thanks to the minority TPLF, we shall see one day when this happens to them as well. Even the British Empire failed. The TPLF will crumble and those young Ethiopians can go home and leave once again with dignity and fairness in their beloved community.
Where to flee leaving their own home land behind foir Woyannees(Tigrians). This genereation is realy a lost one.
Rather they should battle with woyannee to regain their freedom and right.
When every thing is convenient they would like to claim being a citizen and yet when mother land Ethiopia needs their help ultimately for the sake of their right be respected they flee.

How sad is this. weyne yagere lij! they take dangerous risk and flee their home and village to make a better living and help their family but instead this becomes their reality in a country and language they don’t know. what’s even more depressing is that they will go back to the same miserable life they came from or worse… may God help them. woyane’s laughable 11% economy growth is only good for the few hodams who worship them. sad.
This generation has a choice to make, either fight back against Woyannie or make the coming generation the victims again and again. The Woyannie regime will stay in power as long as we allow it to. If we fight today, we open the door for the next generation to live a better life.

What does this has to do with the current regime in power.These are poor people who are trying to escape poverty by migrating to the west like any other young Africans who are dying trying OR a dream of living in the west where it has been portrayed by the media like some sort of utopia.This kind of desire does not only make them an easy prey to the beasts out there like Mr Dahir but God forbid,it can also be a lot worse.
Its worth remembering that these people are leaving Ethiopia legally and with a government issued passports.
Ethiopia might be blessed with abundant resources but due to the fast growing population,poverty still remains pretty cronic atleast for now. So their departure has nothing to do politically.

Except for Woyanes and their bandas, our country is no less than a Hell Hole.People do not have other choice therfore their struggle to survive further move them away from their country. Men and women left their family behind in search of any thing so they will be able to feed their family.I hope some day all this exodius stop with God will.
My heart aches not only for them, to their parents also. Their mothers and fathers and their siblings must be worried-sick about them and wondering whatever happened to their sons and daughters and brothers and sisters. I hope their parents never see these pictures. I can’t even start to imagine the magnitude of despair, frustration and fear of the unknown feelings going in their heads.
The majority of Ethiopians who reside outside of Ethiopia left their country because of political instability and these Ethiopians are not any different. If the situations back home were not threatening by a group of bandits who are heavily armed with millions of automatic weapons and who have robbed hundreds of billions of dollars of Ethiopian resources to arm their Agazi army—no one would leave their country to be humiliated and risk their lives in a deplorable place such as this. Very sad indeed to see our people to be humiliated and belittled like this, while Meles and Co. stashing hundreds of millions of Ethiopians’ money in foreign banks and buying million dollar worth of mansions in US and Europe. I hope there is some kind of well established Ethiopian Organization out there to help Ethiopians when they fall in this kind of predicament.

While the real revolutionaries/visionaries from your generation have vanished in the red terror you were able to survive wearing your sister dress and hiding in the kitchen. Weather you like it or not; there is no reason Diasporas to go back-home and fight with woyane. Diasporas are currently living where they are, so they are not direct victims of woyane, unless they felt the agony passively thru their familis. Diasporas as a citizen are only concerned for mother land Ethiopia and its nation but not looking for power as you allgedly claim.
It is utterly the sole responsiblity of the people at home who is going through the miserable life caused by woyane(Tigre).

I agree with most of your points. I have always believed the way to freedom is paved by the barrel. However, implicating this generation as being passive, not patriotic and such is far from reality. When mobilized this generation is far more capable than the past. For me to seat here and write about the problem facing the indigenous would be same thing as beating a dead horse.
I think it is time we stop finger pointing at one another and do what needs to be done.
