21-year-old British citizen shot dead by Woyanne

By Tesfa Alem Tekle

ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA (Sudan Tribune) – A second British citizen is reported having been shot to death in the volatile Ogaden region of Ethiopia bordering Somalia, a source said.

The report can’t independently be verified at this point but unconfirmed sources said that “the Ethiopian Woyanne Police in Ogaden Region had killed a British Citizen”.

Ms. Muna Cabdi Faarax, 21, had traveled from London to Ethiopia last month to visit her relative in Ogaden Region,”

The incident happened on Thursday in Capital of the Ogaden Region, Jigjiga.

Sources didn’t indicate the intention behind the killings; however a witness is reported as saying that “the incident shocked the local people and it was deliberately carried out by the Ethiopian Police in Jigjiga.”

Despite the murder claims that point fingers at police, a different report received today by Sudan Tribune shows that Muna Cabdi was not yet fully a British citizen and she was killed during a robbery.

Reached by phone, Ethiopian government spokesperson, Bereket Simon earlier told Sudan Tribune that he has no knowledge of the report, but he said that the Ethiopian government will do the necessary investigations.

Muna had come to the region to visit relatives.

It is reported that her family is now in contact with the Biritish Embassy in Ethiopia.

Last month a British man named as Jason Read, working for an oil company, was killed in Ogaden region.

  1. She can be just a victim of random robbery crime. Such crimes have been long standing in that part of the region for a long time especially if it has something a touch of clan rivalry or friction. Believe me I am from that part of the region and in no way of speaking for this ugly election mugger from Adwa. But I would like to say this about these so-called sympathizing elements here in the USA who like to write about ONLF this or ONLF that. They put their wanton articles on New York Times, Bloomberg News and so forth. I don’t believe their reports at all. Shame on Bloomberg!!! Shame on the New York Times!!! Some of these energy speculators here are incensed by the fact that they were not given any contracts to explore the reserves in the area. I think what they are doing is that to work with ONLF and report sensational news about the activities of ONLF to garner enough affinity so they will be given the first dips when Ogaden is ‘liberated’. Just like the old saying goes – Fish in the troubled waters. They will continue to do just that until this goon from Adwa remains in power. If ‘Jason of Friday The 13th” from Adwa grants a single contract to these faceless speculators here in the USA, all these ‘victory claims’ will cease to appear on Bloomberg News and being spewed around the Brooklyn speakeasies faster than you know what. It is a shame that these shameless groups are comparing what is going in the Ogaden with what happened in Darfur. It is also a shame that such a young life so much to gain has been cut short by a barbaric act.

  2. See people this is what I’m talking A British citizen died in Ethiopia and no one lifted a finger to help her or her family. The Ethiopian government knows that they ordered the deaths of those people and if it wasn’t them, then it was some group close to them. When is the West going to act and see that Meles and his people need to leave power immediately not in 5 years as they want. They have stayed 20 years already just picture how many deaths that they have caused. EU it is time to act now America it is time to act now, UN it is time to act to finally stop people, from dieing. Let me ask you guys a question if someone from a foreign government such as the EU or the US, or Asia died some high ranking official they would be in Ethiopia with 12 hours to oust Meles and his government but why is it when a tax payer of a nation dies it’s no big deal?

Your name can not be right. It is either:
    * Cali Jaamac in Somali or
    * Ali Jama in English or similar languages.

Apart from that, your gibberish is better suited for the likes of AbbayMedia.com, EthiopianReporter.com, or if you prefer cakaaranews.com
