More than 50 Heads of State and Government, as well as representatives of a number of international and regional organizations and associations are taking part in the Summit.
In the course of the Summit that would continue until tomorrow, various agenda items are under discussion, including international peace and stability, climate and development, as well as global governance, among others.

I was very disappointed by President Isaias’ recent visits to the Arab-Muslim Jihadist and terrorist countries, but now I am elated he is coming to visit France, a Christian country. I hope, in the near future, he will also visit Canada, the United States, Germany, Great Britain, and many other Christian nations and create a worm relationship with each one of them. He is an intelligent Christian leader, and he should not isolate himself from the Christian world. Eritreans’ President Isaiah Afeworki’s eventful visit to France is very important news, and EthiopinReview.com should be praised for carrying this significant news. Isaiah has never visited the western countries, and I think this is his first visit after so many years of isolation from the western world.
The west should not be a one man’s territory – Meles’ territory, a beggar’s and a tribalist’s territory. I am sure Meles Seitanawi is unhappy, nervous, and uncomfortable by this remarkable President’s first visit to France because Meles Seitanawi thinks that he (Meles) is the only person who represents the Horn of Africa. Yes it is a great news, Africa was represented by the only legitimately elected leader President Isias Afeworki. Several liberation fighters voted him with their blood to lead them to gain their independence. Millions casted their ballots throughout the world for the independence of their country in the ballot box, supervised by international observers, 99.89% trusted the independence of their country under his leadership. When Eritrean independence is threatened by U.N.S.C, millions rallied against the fake sanctions in support of their country and their leader, from Melbourne, Australia to San Francisco U.S.A. Who can name one African leader that can mobilize few hundred demonstrators in support of his or her leadership? All of them are put in power with fake elections full of intimidations and corruption. Ethiopian Arab Muslims never fought a single fight to liberate Christian Ethiopia either from Gragn Muhammad or from any other Muslim invader. The reason is simple: Ethiopia is a Christian country, and Muslims who believe in killing Christians and Jews never fight to defend Christians but to kill them so that they (the Muslims) could go straight to heaven.
It is true the Oromo young Muslims – the Mujahedeen of modern Ethiopia – are spilling their Islamic blood to liberate Oromo which they call Ethiopia and the rest of the regions Abyssinia from the real Ethiopia that includes all the provinces of Ethiopia including Oromia. Will they succeed? Time will tell.
I will never, ever, train my brain to love Islam that teaches Sharia to maim a person, to subjugate a woman, and to force a non believer to accept Quran and Hadith, two contradictory books, never revealed to Muhammad from the true eternal God. M_ Assta B. Gettu, I agree with M_ Hayfe, you need to educate yourself about the history of your country and use your brain to analyze it. As a follower of ER, I have read several of your comments and I admire your enthusiasm to be involved in your countries affairs. The British say ‘little knowledge is dangerous’. You have a very shallow knowledge and yet you seem to know everything and keep commenting almost on any news and article you read at ER.
1. To my limited knowledge from what I read from different sources, Isaias does not mix politics and religion. He happened to be of Christian religious background, and a leader of Eritrean people who are Muslims and Christian faith, and some who do not believe in the two religions. In my opinion, one thing which made Isaias to be a successful leader in his country was that he convinced his followers that regardless of their religious background they are all Eritreans, and they should fight together against their common enemies for their country. When he first joined the liberation front under ELF, there were experienced and older leaders already before him who were zealous about religion and had created all kind of suspicion among their followers, and their method would not have created the unity they needed to liberate their country instead would have lead them to a religious civil wars. To create harmony and build confidence among many religions and tribal differences, that what I call real leadership and wisdom.
2. You mentioned the war in the region by Gragn Mohamed. For many like yourself with shallow knowledge of their history, the war in those days to be between Moslems and Christians. To the contrary it was a war of two colonial empires of the Ottoman Empire who were Moslems and the Portuguese Empire who were Christians. Their main interest was the control of African wealth which happened to be slaves, the human resources of Africa. Over 100 millions of poor Africans were uprooted from their villages and sold as slaves from Middle East to America and Europe. As the Super Powers of those days, they were both engaged in slave trade, they care little about the religion but they used it as political tool, and made a lot of wealth. The Turks supplied arms to the lowlanders and the Portuguese supplied the highlanders with their modern weapons, and the poor Africans killed one another, just like today the war is over natural resources arable land, oil, gas, gold and other minerals of poor nations. The war in those days can be described accurately, between the highlanders and lowlanders, because Christians on the lowlands sided with Grange Mohamed and Muslims in the highlands sided with king Gelawdeos. To characterize the war as simple religious war between Christians and Muslims is far from the truth. Not long ago the Eritrean liberation war was described as a religious war between Christian Ethiopia and Moslem Eritrea or progressive Marxist and followers of Imperialists!
3. Your sermon about Christian and Muslim religion is amusing. You seem to adorn your Christian religion and demonize Islam. Do you believe there is a single Christian today that follows Christ’s teaching? Christ thought his followers to love their enemies but in today’s Christianity forget loving our enemies, but we hate our friends, our own brothers, sisters and cousins. Hitler and Mussolini were Christian leaders who killed so many innocent people throughout the world. The Pope in Rome was blessing Italian soldiers as they march to Ethiopia to slaughter innocent children, men and women to build their empire!
4. Another bizarre idea you wrote claiming Ethiopian Muslims as a refugee who came to Ethiopia. It is almost as describing Mengistu Hailemariam and his followers as refugees from Russia, the land of Lenin. Ethiopian Muslims are the original Ethiopians who accepted Islam as their religion, just like other pagans Ethiopians who accepted Christianity as their religion to take them to haven. Have you ever thought why the Jews who saw all the miracles of Jesus Christ did not believe in him, and yet Ethiopians who lived thousands miles away from Israel who never saw the miracles accepted him? The Jews condemned one of their own as a criminal who deserved to be punished by death on the cross, just because he preached peace and love among his people!
5. While you are in the thinking mood, think about Emperor Haile Selassie who was condemned by many Ethiopians as a cruel monarch who was feeding his dogs with choice meat while his people were starving to death, being worshiped by millions Rastafarians throughout the world! A man who is despised and forgotten by his own people, who abolished centuries of slavery from the country, the man who started modern education in the country, the man who lead his people to free themselves from Italian colonial yolk, the man who brought their country from ‘donkey age to jet age’ in one generation! I am also happy you have read all my comments and articles on this web site, but I feel sad you have failed to read my other comments on other web sites such as Abugida, Nazret.com, BBC and others. I urge you to read all of them even though the ones you have read so far have disappointed you because they attack your prophet Muhammad and your faux religion – Islam. And the fundamental rationale you shamelessly categorized me as a shallow-minded person is only that I have defended Christianity and savagely attacked Islam – a religion forced upon innocent men and women without their wills throughout the world.
• You have purposely refrained from calling Isaiah Afewerki a Christian leader because in your limited knowledge you think he is a Muslim leader. Be assured, my friend, Isaiah is a devoted member of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahido Church, and as a Christian leader, he has been fair to Christians, Muslims, and other faiths; therefore, don’t be ashamed of calling him a Christian leader. Of course, he is not like one of those Muslim leaders who torment and discriminate the Christians, burn their Churches, confiscate their properties, and send some of them to jail almost on a daily basis.
• The Ottomans, as the disciples of Muhammad the Prophet, had an ambition to conquer the whole world and to convert the entire Christian world to a Muslim world. The Portuguese did not have this evil scheme in their hurts. When Gragn Muhammad was ravaging and burning the Ethiopian Churches and monasteries, the Turkish people under the Ottoman Empire were dancing because they thought Ethiopia was going to be a Muslim country and a stepping stone to the rest of the African countries. Immediately, the Turks sent Gragn Muhammad 900 well-trained Turkish Muslims and Arabia about 2000 soldiers. The whole purpose was to defeat the Ethiopian Christians.
• The wise Ethiopian Christian Emperor, King Gelawdewos, knowing Gragn Muhammad, supported by Ethiopian Muslims (never by Ethiopian Christians) and encouraged by foreign powers, was going to lose the war, asked the Portuguese Christians to come and help their fellow Ethiopian Christians. Then in 1543, with only 9,000 foot soldiers, Emperor Gelawdewos defeated Gragn Muhammad who had 15,000 soldiers during that particular fight. After Gragn Muhammad was killed, the Portuguese left Ethiopia without colonizing this Christian country. One can understand that quality counts but quantity doesn’t. In this case, Ethiopian Muslims always boast that 66% of the Ethiopian population is Muslim, so that one day, they dream power will be in their hands.
• Arab Muslims had been actively engaged in a slave trade; many knowledgeable historians believe about 11, and 18 million Black Africans were enslaved by Arab-Muslim slave traders. Black Africans have been bought and sold like properties in Muslim countries such as Mauritania and Sudan. In fact, Sudan does not have a law that protects its own Black Muslims from being sold by other Sudanese Muslims. Generally, the Muslim world is a world of mess.
• It is the first time to hear the low Lander Ethiopian Christians were on the side of Muhammad Gragn to fight the high Lander Ethiopian Christians. This is nothing else but a distortion of history by some illiterate, poor Ethiopian Arab Muslims such as Anonymous, Truth_ Teller, hayfe, and many others. By distorting the Ethiopian history, they want to fabricate a false Ethiopian Muslim history that does not exist. The history of Ethiopia is the history of the Ethiopian Christians: Lalibela, Axum, Gishen-Mariam, the Castle of Gondar, and many other historical places are good examples of the Ethiopian history. Are there any Ethiopian Muslims’ historical sights in Ethiopia that attract our eyes or glorify our history? Nothing! Zero! It is a taboo for Ethiopian Christians to attack other Ethiopian Christians in time of war, especially when a Christian country is attacked by a Muslim invader.
• I have heard many times that Muslims like you say that people who live in the low lands are Muslims only, and people who live in the highlands are Christians only. And now, to confuse the readers, you are saying there were Muslims in the low lands and as well as in the high lands. To tell you the truth, Ethiopian highlands and low lands – they all are Christian lands, governed by Christian kings; there are no such things as Muslim lands in Ethiopia.
• To your surprise, I always love Christian religion because it is a true religion founded by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Islam is a man-made religion, and that man was Muhammad who had failed to perform a single miracle. Whether a person follows his religion or not, it is his/her own business, not yours or mine. You advise me not to mix religion with politics; if that is true, why did Ayatollah Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic condemn Iranian opposition leaders in his speech at the tomb of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khomeini? Of course you don’t have any valid answer to the question I have raised. Why did the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church in exile denounce the May 23, 2010 election as a fraud? The prophet Muhammad himself was a politician, a warrior, and a preacher.
• If you deny the origins of the first Ethiopian Arab Muslims who came to Ethiopia from Mecca as refugees, then you have no any Islamic history in Ethiopia that you can claim that you belong to the prophet Muhammad. And those Arab Muslims are not then your ancestors who came to Ethiopia and multiplied and filled the Ethiopian Christian land.
• Yes, thousands of Jews who witnessed the power of Jesus Christ were converted to Christianity: Matthew was a Jew; John was a Jew; Paul was a Jew, and there were many other Jews who became Christians after they saw the miracles of Jesus Christ. I cannot count them all here.
• No one believes you that many Ethiopians condemned Emperor Haile Selassie, a Christian King and a defender of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church. In fact, out of their sincere love and admiration to him, they used to call him “ፀሐዩ ንጉሥ” (the Sun King). Of course, the Ethiopian Muslims, especially the Wollo Muslims, hated him simply he was a Christian King. If you believe religion is a private matter, then why don’t you keep Islam as a private matter in your own heart? Eritreans are good people, and I’m glad you love all Ethiopians: Ethiopians are Eritreans and Eritreans are Ethiopians; there should be no border between Ethiopia and Eritrea; two countries; one people; two religions: Islam and Christianity. I happened to embrace Christianity and hate Islam because the founder of Christianity is Jesus Christ, the true Son of God and the only savior of the world. The founder of Islam is Muhammad, a political leader who conquered the Arab world by his sword and imposed Islam on his victims by force without their will. Islam is not a religion but a scheme devised by Muhammad to get some fortune out of it.
You suggest we, Christians and Muslims undivided in spirit as well as in action, should fight the TPLF. I agree if it were possible, but the Ethiopian Muslims believe Meles Seitanawi (Zenawi) has benefited them more than the previous Ethiopian Christian kings, so instead of fighting against him with the Christians in the battle field, they would prefer to stay home, minding their lucrative businesses. After all, most of the Ethiopian Muslims have become prosperous under Woyanne government. There is no Ethiopian Muslim in Addis Ababa that does not have a job, high or low paying job. Many Ethiopian Muslims are now in the Ethiopian parliament – 50% of them.
Generally speaking, this is the golden era for the Ethiopian Muslims, and the saddest period for the rest of the Ethiopian tribes except for some Tegarues. This is the darkest age especially for the Amharas and the Oromos, the most oppressed tribes by Meles Seitanawi. Woyanne has purposely elevated the Ethiopian Muslims to the highest level, but he has demoted the Amharas and the Oromos to the lowest grade.
In this case, it would be very hard for the Ethiopian Christians to trust the Ethiopian Muslims especially in a war time; I wish the Ethiopian Muslims were formidable enemies of Meles Seitanawi as the Oromos and the Amharas have been throughout the years.

Ethiopia is not like Saudi Arabia where Christians are forbidden to carry even the Bibles and to build a house of worship anywhere in the Saudi’s kingdom. However, in Ethiopia, one can propagate his religion freely and build a house of prayer with no question asked, and that is why Ethiopian Muslims have built perhaps millions of Mosques throughout the country.
One cannot learn anything good from the Islamist terrorists, because their religion, Islam, is the product of terror and conflict; Islam is not peace or complete submission to the will of God. Islam is a forced submission, not a willful submission to the will of God. That is why Muhammad slaughtered thousands of Mecca citizens and many Jews and imposed Islam upon them. One of Islam’s doctrines is “Kill the infidels – the Christians and the Jews. I hope one day, all Muslims will become Christians and live together in peace. I would like to correct on your blind assumption that I was a Muslim. I am not, but it does not matter if I was a Muslim or Christian. As far as your identity remains anonymous and your religion unknown, and as far as I have no clue whether you are on Jesus’ side or on allah’s side, our discussion about the subject of religion benefits neither a Muslim nor a Christian.
Your recent comment suggests you have some ideas about Christianity as your paternal grandparents had been priests, and you yourself have lived in different regions of the country, perhaps, under a different name as many students of Ethiopian traditional schools do for not being caught by their parents and taken away from their learning to tend their parents’ sheep and goats.
However, you have said: “…it does not matter if I was a Muslim or Christian.” It does matter a lot, my friend! You must choose either Christianity or Islam or something else. Remember what the Prophet Elijah said when he confronted the Israelites at Mount Carmel: “How long are you going to waver between tow opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” (1st Kings 18:21) Therefore, if the Muslim god is the real god, follow him; if the Christian God, your paternal grand parents’ God, is the real God, then follow him without any doubt because as St. James said: “…he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” (1:6-8)
Of course, we are living in a world of “it does not matter if I was a Muslim or a Christian, a Hindu or a Shinto; it does not matter whether I marry a Christian girl or a Muslim girl; it doe not matter whether I pray to God or to Ball; it does not matter whether I go to Church every Sunday morning or stay at my house, watching the foot-ball game; it doe not matter whether I pay my taxes on time or evade paying them at all. Old Ethiopian Christians and old Ethiopian Muslims may have lived together in peace, respecting each other; nevertheless, modern Ethiopian Muslims, encouraged by Al Amoudi and influenced by the Saudi and tempted by the money from other wealthy Arab-Muslims have changed their attitudes toward their Ethiopian Christian neighbors. They want to spread Islam as quick as possible throughout the Ethiopian Christian kingdom and finally take over the Christian sovereignty and establish the Muslim Kalifate. You may have heard some Ethiopian Muslims saying openly that they are the majority, and they can change Ethiopia into a Muslim country and there by institute their Sharia law and enslave the Ethiopian Christian women as they are doing to our young Ethiopian Christian girls working as maids in the Arab-Muslim world.
Islam is spreading in Ethiopia like wild fire, and no one is ready to extinguish it before it has consumed the entire Ethiopian Christian values that are found in our magnificent Churches and monasteries such as Lalibela, Debre-Lebanos, Ziquala-Abo, Asebot-Gedam, Hiq-Giorgis, Waldiba-Gedam, Debre-Damo, Mahibere-Selassie, Axum Zion, Amba-Gishen, Christos-Semra, Tana-Kircos, Dima-Georgis, Kibran-Gebriel, and many other holy Christian places.
We Ethiopian Christians know whom we worship, but Muslims in general do not know whom they have been worshiping since the false prophet Muhammad misled them to worship allah, the moon god, one of the idols in Mecca. And I ask my Ethiopian Muslim brothers and sisters to examine for themselves the Quran and the Hadith – the two contradictory Muslim books. I am 100% sure that God never revealed such satanic books to Muhammad the rapist. These two Islamic books are fictions: if they were holy books, they could have accepted that Jesus Christ is the only savior of the world, and there is no salvation without him.
Can you name any Ethiopian history you think is a distorted history or anything that I have said about Christianity and Islam is a distorted history? If I have said that Muhammad was a rapist prophet, am I distorting the history of Muhammad? If I have said that Muhammad had more than 60 wives and one child wife, am I telling a lie about Muhammad the false prophet? If I have said Muhammad had taught his followers to kill Christians and Jews or the non believers, am I fabricating the whole history of Islam to hurt my Ethiopian Muslim brothers and sisters? Not at all! Rather, I am deeply concerned about their lives after death. I just want to save them through Jesus Christ who died for the whole world; I don’t think the Ethiopian Muslims know about the whole history of Muhammad and their false religion, Islam. As an Ethiopian Christian, I want to share with them what I have discovered about Muhammad and Islam – the most corrupt prophet ever existed on this earth. I am waging war not against the Ethiopian Muslims but against their false religion imposed upon them by ignorant Imams with kaffiyeh on their heads and putting the Ethiopian Muslims in Jahiliyyah. As Hanifs, they must be responsible for deceiving the Ethiopian Muslims for such a long time.
I like those two Amharic sayings: (1) “የፍቅር ቤት ሳይዘጋ ያድራል.” (2) “እውነት ተናግሮ ከመጣላት, ዋሽቶ ማስታረቅ ይበልጣል.” In the old days, people didn’t care whether their houses were left unlocked for the whole night and for the whole day because people spent the whole day on their field, and during the night, they didn’t bother to shut the doors of their houses because they didn’t believe someone would come and steal their properties. Today, however, the thieves are our leaders, not the common people. Our leaders don’t steal but they come and take our properties by force. So, whether we lock our doors or leave them open, it doesn’t make any difference.
The saying on number (2) tells me that I don’t have to tell the truth that Islam is a false religion in order to bring peace between Muslims and Christians, but as a Christian, I must tell the truth: all the prophets and the apostles died, telling the truth that Jesus Christ is the true Son of the living God. The mark of Christianity is to tell the truth. That is all!

You have turned a simple news about the visit of President Isaias to France into propaganda forum for religious wars. You are ranting all over the place, spreading fires of hatred. People like you and Meles have a simple and narrow mind set. Meles spreads wars and misery to accumulate wealth in Swiss Banks, and you are spreading fire of hatred, to accumulate wealth in haven. You said 70%-80% of the Ethiopian Muslims are serving in the army. As far as you have excellent points, I don’t worry too much about the correctness of your English language. English is a foreign language imposed upon other humans without their wills. Please, don’t misunderstand me as if I hate Ethiopian Muslims. I don’t hate them; I grew up with them, tending my goats and mixing them with their goats. If one of their goats was missing, I went with them to find the missing goat, and if my goat was missing, they did the same thing to help me find my missing goat.
In my village, Muslims came to our weddings and the same thing with our funerals; so, I grew up in a village where there had been mutual understanding between Muslims and Christians.
However, after I came to America and saw the 9/11 horror committed by Arab Muslims, my entire views about Islam completely changed. From that time on, I started reading many books written by distinguished Muslims and Christian authors. One of the best books that gave me the whole pictures of Islam is Prophet of Doom, written by a Jewish scholar, Mr. Craig Winn.
Indeed, Islam is a false religion founded by a false prophet, Muhammad, who married a 9-year-old girl, Aisha and raped her at age 9 when he was 53 years old and punched her on her chest. He also slept with a dead woman to have sex with her dead body. Imagine, he already had 66 wives besides the 9-year-old Aisha. So, I want my Ethiopian Muslims to know the true history of Muhammad and Islam, especially the Muslims I grew up with in my very remote village.
God willing, one day, all the Ethiopian Muslims will join Christianity and be one in the true faith, and the enemy will not find any division in all of us, or he may not be able to use our division as a weapon against us.
What you have described in your comment is true that Isaiah Afeworki always avoids begging the west to give him some money, and he is trying to work hard for his people to help themselves rather than to be helped by western donation.

The giving away of Ethiopian fertile lands to foreign countries will continue as far as Meles Seitanawi remains in office for another five years. I sincerely urge you to denounce Muhammad as a false prophet because he had never been a true prophet. You mentioned Mariam, a Christian woman, and you said she was the wife of Muhammad. You are wrong! Of course, Mariam was a Christian woman from the Coptic Church in Egypt. Mariam and her sister Sirin were forced to become Muslims. After these two women were converted to Islam, Muhammad sent Sirin back to Egypt, but he kept the beautiful Mariam as his slave. She was Muhammad’s property; he had sexual relationship with her but never married her, and she remained as his slave until she died (al-Tabari Vol.39, p. 194). Al-Tabari Footnote 845 further explains, “That, Mariam was ordered to veil herself as did the prophet’s wives, but he did not marry her.” Then, according to al-Tabari Vol.39, p. 22, Mariam died in 637/638 A.D.
