Kinijit high-level official attends African Union Summit in Accra, Ghana

Posted on

Ato Andargachew Tsige, a senior official of the Kinijit International Leadership, is currently in Accra, Ghana, to attend the annual African Union Summit. Ato Andargachew is carrying the following message from Kinijit to be delivered at the 3-day summit which will convene today:

______________________
Statement on the Union Government of Africa
The Coalition for Unity & Democracy (Kinijit)

The Heads of States and Governments of the African Union (AU), at their forthcoming Summit in Accra (Ghana), are expected to put another milestone in the political history of the Continent. At this Summit, the modalities of transforming the AU into the Union Government of Africa; popularly referred to as the United States of Africa, will be at the centre of the negotiation. The International Political Committee of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party (CUDP-Kinijit) has the honour and the privilege to forward the compliments of our jailed leaders to the Head of States and Governments of Africa, and express our party’s support for the unity of Africa through peaceful and democratic means.

The Union Government of Africa will be successful, if and only, if the source of political power is the ballot box; through free and fair elections; and its governance structure is unambiguously founded on the principles of separations of powers; with an independent and transparent judiciary and the rule of law; a vibrant press that harnesses democracy, traditions and value systems; and an academia whose mission is to advance new knowledge and provide the education and skills required for the new economy. These key enabling features of good governance and development should be enshrined in an overarching Continental Constitution that should be ratified by a referendum.

The Union Government of Africa, if formed under the above solid grounds, brings nightmares to anti democratic regimes in the Continent; whose hands and minds have been the cause of bloodsheds and misery to millions of Africans. They will object and sabotage its formation as it will expose not only their maladministration, but their horrendous crimes against humanity. One such regime is unfortunately found in Ethiopia.

The details of the illegitimate Prime Minister’s misrule of Ethiopia are too many to be detailed in this statement. Inspecting the December 15, 2005 resolution of the European Parliament and the draft bill of the United States Congress and the reports of human rights organizations like Amnesty International and the Ethiopian Human Rights Council provides a glimpse of the atrocities committed by the regime. In other words, there is overwhelming evidence that allows the AU to invoke the instruments of international law and its own conventions against such regimes, including the minority regime in Ethiopia and its cabal.

Meles Zenawi is not only dangerous to Ethiopians. His venom has started to spread to the rest of the Continent. We therefore call upon the Heads of States and Governments of the AU to first and foremost save NEPAD and the APRM. These programmes and institutions are too important to be left to rot in the hands of a charlatan. It is indeed ridiculous and ironic to find Meles at the helm of these institutions. Hence, we call upon President John Kufuor, the current President of the AU to officially raise these concerns at the Summit, and address the plight of political prisoners in the continent.

Free Political Prisoners in Ethiopia!

  1. why do you make it appear as if was invited? The AU backs Meles.Andargatchew just went there like any pivate person.Do not claim victory where none exists and we have still work to do to have the lezders released

  2. Kinijit Would have been a strong party if we had people like Andargachew Tsege and Taye WoldeSemayat working together as one.I know for sure both of you know how brutal this regime is.The only thing that could bring down these child killers(TPLFs and likes) is UNITY , not only inside kinijit but also among all pro Ethiopia opposition groups in Ethiopia and abroad.

I beg you Dr. Taye Woldesemayat now that you are elected as a leader to one side of kinijit Diaspora(Even if it was controversial ,I always likes to see forward)to reach out to these hard working kinijit International leadership individuals (I see them as an asset to kinijit and Ethiopia as a whole)to contact them personally and reach out with a genuine Ethiopian hand to solve the problem once and for all.Brother to Brother.

I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT.

The polarized people from both side must be issolated if we want to save our country.Because their EGO is more than their country.

Solving this critical issue will be your first test to qualify you as a leader , as someone who sees Ethiopia first. The Diaspora lacked this kind of leadership for the past 20 years.

It is very sad to see from both side, some people put their EGO above our national security, Our people and our country which is surrounded by enemies with in and outside.

Dr. Taye Woldesemayat You are a HERO of mine for that matter to many Ethiopians ,NOW it is time to Unite and fight Meles and co. who is terrorizing our people.

It is my strong belief you wont disappoint me.For too long we the silent majority in the opposition camp have been betrayed by people we trusted for so long.We need a new beginning ,a new united front.

I call up on you and KIL to resolve your differences as soon as possiable. But if you all fail to do this you will disappoint kinijit leaders in prison (as their first letter explains it clearly working together is a MUST ,it is not an option).

ABOVE ALL , IT WILL BE A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT TO ALL ETHIOPIANS.

  3. i don’t understood between Andargachew and Taye, who’s the leader of cudp internationaly?
any how bravo Andargachew, leave them the gagsters/

  4. I assume Ato Andargachew has really gone to Accra. I assume also Ato Andargachew is invited by the Au.
By the way I really admire Andargachew for his attitude of “Embiyew Ke Siltan Alwerdim”

  5. untimely comments and perhaps unconfirmed rumours are not to the advantage of the Heros in Kality. why do not you all wait and see beforeyou say something? Does it help the Prisoners or Meles?
We are giving meles some grains of excuses for what he does? Should we listen and help the shimagles or say ‘Zeraf’ for nothing that we can do? do you think the shimagles are foolish not to tell deatails about what they are doing with all maximum care?
I do not belive the ferenges and the press cry is really for the prisoners sake? if i belive this i must do so Lidetu’s cry in the parilament for the release of the prisoners.
I am so sorry that we are damaging the efforts of the ‘Shimagles’. professor Beyene and Lidetu raised the question to melse in the parilament…to express their ‘concern’ about the release of the jailed people. i wonder if they were jenuine. What else could one expect in the parilament melse to answer? To admit the that he was forced to realse? or to admite the negotation process?
melse’s answer is much more worthy than the question as far as the prisoners are concerned.
the rumour was disiminated delibrately to have it failed mechanically.
I wish we keep quite and give the last chance for the ‘shimagles’

What the hell is andargachew doing in the summit of african union if the news is true? how dare you expect melse would accept that kind of pressure ? i would rather feel the opposite….as melse is becoming helpless in many aspects of his leadership,i am afraid he will be more rigid until his death. That is the nature of dictators.
You guys shut up and do things very secretly. No one shares the pain the prisoners face.
Once again i wish the prisoners get out of the jail in one or another way! when they are realsed i would be the first to praise melse and the shimagles offcourse the prisoners for they have accpted the painfulway of the negotations with the ‘shimaglers’

  6. would you plese post , the formal invitation letter , sent by AU to ato Andrgatsachew Tsege? if you don’t have any thing to proof , as , Alemu said, he went to Gahana for his personal ego , may be to get a chance and meet the Prime minister, and make an apolgy statement for what he has done during the 2005 campaign! that is my guess though…but let’s be peatiance and see, how ato Tsege wiil be suceesful on this regard!

  7. Nice try Mr. Andargachiew but it is not going to work. We have you by the neck.

You are acting illegally. You represent no body but yourself and your sickening ambition. Too bad you didn’t call yourself “Prime Minster designate”. By the way where did you get all this money for jet flying around the world?

In 1992 as a member of the EPDRF Amhara wing and as agent for your old friend Mr. Zenawi – you stabbed your country and it’s poor people. You can not fool us twice.

This time we are well prepared for you. And those hard line Tigrians who are afraid of a strong CUD will also be punished with you.

  8. This is the way how a diplomatic duty works. This gives experience and confidence for the party and supporters: ally, respect and friendship by the international community. Stop gossiping each other. In each and every move, you need to remember the elected and respected leaders who are at right now suffering the worst prison on earth leaving their luxury life for the sake of Ethiopia.

Any one with normal thinking will give first and last priority for the sake of Ethiopia. People are dieing and suffering in prison for the sake of Ethiopia. Yet, you are doing something unbelievable while living in freedom and comfort life. Stop. The Dr, Taye era must be a new era. You get nothing but helping woyane and worsening the situation while blackmailing others in the party. Unity and respect must be your first priority. Look the Ethiopian people how they live. This must not spending any emotion, energy, time and money gossiping each other and looking own ego and meaningless power at the oppressed people back

  9. IS Andargachew still speaking for Kinijit after democratically removed from his position? Isn’t the same thing his friend Meles did to Kinijit. When are we going to start respecting people’s will. Andargachew is no more with Kinijit, he is history.

  10. Great Ato Andargachew.

Dr. Woldesemayat: please continue your ‘Shimiglina’ job and leave Kinijit party affairs to competent people like Andargachew Tsegie.

Ethiopians: please, please, because Dr. woldesemayat was jailed by woyane a couple of years ago doesn’t necessarily mean he is the perfect person to lead Kinijit. If there are many who are in the direction of supporting Dr. woldesemayats dream, I would then admit that my country men and women are getting more and more childish.

I just learned about the Kinijit-Woldesemayat story. Very amazing.

  11. If Andargachew behaves like Meles and acts like Meles why those who support him call themselves opposition? Isn’t he the one who is telling us that Ethiopia is one hundred years old? Isn’t he the one declared his love to the ethnic politics of woyanne? Supporting him sends wrong message. He must be treated like Meles.

  12. Please, mind you, if shaleqa yosef was at AU summit everything would had been zero becouse even he can not
speake english to explain a single sentence, i know him
    he is illitrate
DR. taye i have a greate respect for you as far as you follow the right direction, but i don’t believe that how you join with the gangster group, may be you have secret plan to demolish them, becouse you know them how they are bad for for ethiopian people, if it is not, you are out off your mind, however you hate andargachew, however you hate hailu shawle, however you hate dr.berhanu and ather’s kinijit members, that is a big mistake to join shaleqa’s group.

Still i have a big support for andargachew tsega he is a true ethiopian

  13. Andargachew’s dedication and sacrification is empowering. He is indispensable for Kinijit and capable of solving the current crises around the international leadership.Lots of people trust Andargachew’s tolerance, inclusivness and rationale and wait for this skill and potential be exercised to come to an agreement.
It is only woyanne benefiting from this division and polarization.
    Long live Ethiopia!

  14. Ato Ewnetu,

I would like you to refer to a small book entitled – “Beginner’s guide to grammar and spelling”.
Your posting above contain numerous grammatical error.
Some of the spelling error is listed below:
    ———-
    – becouse (should spell – because)
    – speake (should spell – speak)
    – i (should spell – I)
    – greate (should spell – great)
    – ethiopian (should spell – Ethiopian)
    – ather

  15. How far can one be allowed to be reckless? If this statement is to be submitted to the Summite registrar of the AU I am sure they will tell them to edit the letter and come back in 2008. The least one should do is not to use a highly inflammatory and undiplomatic words such as ….” his venom”….. for such kind high level diplomatic forum. Mind you in International summits or conferences who message is not only judged by its substance but also by the words it entails.

  16. Does he believe most of the leaders in Africa are democrat and elected by the majority of their own people? Is it not silly and foolish to believe that Ato Andargachew went to Accra to participate in the African Leader

  17. Serving people is possible when the people want you to serve them. Why Andargachew fights to “serve” when the people are telling him thank you we don’t want your service? Is that not what his friend Ato Meles is doing? If we oppose Meles for being undemocratic, human rights abuser, disintegrating Ethiopia, etc Andargachew has shares in all of those. If our opposition to Meles is based on contrary to the above, then we are back andargachew blindly and working towards distruction of our people and our country. Andargachew is agent sent by TPLF.

  18. Congratulation !! For My heroes the leader of Kinijit International for the whole team work together. Specially my great leader Mr. Andargachew Tsige performing the ultimate historical definition of the platform and value of Democracy to the entire African nation- KINIJIT INTERNATIONAL CARES for the Feature of the “United State of Africa”

Again, Time to cleanup and sorted crearly, the Kinijit international must go ahead and continues working for the feature plan with out any delay.

Special Thanks for The KINIJIT LEGAL team Professor AL Mariam and his associates and also Mr. Sheakspear Feyissa Seattle WA . as wel, MR. Andargachew Tsige, Mr. Birhane Mewwa and Dr.Moges Gebremariam. Thank you and we support you, for your tireless hard working.

  19. I wonder who is paying the ticket for Andargachew. I hope he is not using funds from Kinijit. In what capacity is he going to the AU Conference? As Head or Chairman of diaspora Kinijit? If so, who gave him the title? Only an imposter would assume a title for himself and present himself to a high level conference. No person of integrity would go this far to fool people. As he has not been invited (he is no Head of State or Government), he is not even going to be allowed near the premises since the security is apparently very tight. He is even using the name of our leaders in Kality by conveying their “comcpliments” to the African Heads of State and Government. These same Heads of State and Government and their AU Commissioner never even tried to intervene on behalf of CUD leaders in Kality on the injustice meted to them by Meles. In fact the AU was one of the international election observers. However in a statement unworthy of an international civil servant, the deputy Commissioner of AU actually lied and said that EPRDF/TPLF won the May 2005 elections.

  20. Re: AU Summit

As Dale Carneige noted, any fool can criticize, condemn and complain. It is thousand times easier to critiise than to create hence, the more reason why critics never solve problems. It is better to do the right thing today and be damned by our critics than to compromise only to be judged by posterity.

Ato Andargachew did the right thing by going to Ghana to expose the criminal weyane regime at the AU Summit as most African leaders and people are not aware of the plight of the Ethiopian people under the opressive rule of Meles Zenawi.

Don’t Kinijit and other human rights advocacy groups travel to other parts of the world for the same purpose? Is it a crime to travel to Africa?
