The executive committee of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party (Kinijit) has opened a new office in Addis Ababa. The address of the new office has not been disclosed yet for security purposes, but the Kinijit Central Council will meet there soon, according to the officials. Who will be accountable for the human blood and life scarified for the struggle of democracy in Ethiopia?
The current CUDP crisis, which disappointed most of the Ethiopian people living in and in Diaspora, is still hazy and fuzzy. The only reason that can be worth mentioning is few prominent figures of this political organization are haughty, selfish and egocentric. Following their release from prison rather than going for reconciliation and negation like that of Nelson Mandela went to disparity and arrogance. They did not recognize at all their main objective of national reconciliation. Imagine, how one can think about national reconciliation who failed to reconcile with his friends. The CUDP lacks internal transparency and accountability. They talk much about democracy and are expert in theory but nonentity in practice. I think Eng. Hailu Shawel and Dr. Birhanu Nega are the primary responsible person from CUDP founders and are accountable for the highest price paid of human blood and life. Rather than being a symbol of freedom and equality, they became separatist and narrow. The possible solution to resolve the crisis is to suspend these two people and others of their likes from any position and responsibilities and if not complete dismissal.
This is what we were expecting and we should support them in every aspect. As expected the people is reacting in the free voice message of VOA and other medias (internet, etc). We can also make a resolution by making a public meeting to express our firm stand against Ato Hailu’s illegal and dictatorial open letter. Let’s also call the majority kinijit leaders to officially eliminate Ato Hailu, and until then let them denounce his decision publicly. I understand there are many obstacles to meet together but let them deliver message to the people. I again strongly urge the Kinijit chapters to call us for public meeting and openly denounce the chairman’s major criminal activities.
Long live Kinijit and the Kinijit Council.

This is exactly what we were expecting the true leaders of CUD to be doing. I was dumb founded when I saw the picture of some of the smartest and bravest children of Ethiopia standing in front of a locked gate of a compound that still says “Ye Melaw Amara Hizb Dirigit Tsihifet Bet”. We can raise fund in less than a week to build a spectacular office building with state-of-the-art conference room for Kinijit. Why in the world do you have to go and beg “ye feudal zebegna” in this day and age?
All progressive Ethiopians who believe in individual freedom and liberty have to come together and support this party to lead our country and people to peace and prosperity.
Dear CUD true leaders:- Don’t waste your time, go ahead and rent an office space for the time being and carry out the people’s job. At the same time, think big and form a steering committee to raise fund to build your own office. Don’t give me the usual reason – “bota ayigegnim”. You can go to Kaliti, Gefersa, Debre Zeit, Nazret, etc and we will come to you and support you wherever you are. Keep in mind that every Ethiopian from Tigray, Gonder, Wellega all the way to Gambella and Ogaden support you and expect you not to be distracted by power hungry individuals and their cronies. The Ethiopian freedom train has left its station and unfortunately Ato Hailu Shawel and his handlers have missed the train. Who cares if they blame the whole world for their own fault. No looking back and let us get to the business of the people without wasting no more time. I urge all true leaders of CUD including Dr. Berhanu and Dr. Yacob to return home right away and lead the movement of the people with their colleagues at home.

About time! This is exactly the type of firm and decisive action we would expect from our true leaders and we should and would back them to the hilt. I totally agree with ‘Betegbar’ above that, the time to raise a roof over the head of Kinijit has finally arrived. We don’t need their request to start this either, after all this is exactly the type of support that is expected of each CUDP support chapter members and all patriotic Ethiopians. Let’s start fundraising for ‘Birtukan Mideksa Democracy Center– Kinijit Headquarters’ (BMDC-KHQ). We also need to realize that they need to reestablish a lot of the regional offices, since CUDP was using AEUP offices and need our financial backing for this too. It is time to put our money where our mouth is and I know most of us are already doing our share. But since HIM HS has decided to throw a wrench to derail the Kinijit-Train, we need to do even more.
This is one step forward in the right direction I believe.

I think Hailu underestimated the courange and resolutness of most of his ex-comrads. His chikashumes and mislenes do not have any place any more. For so long, he has been hiding behind the true leaders and appeared one of them. We have have accepted him not mistakenly but suspiciously. However, appearance and realty are two distinct things. His true nature unveiled and now we see him naked and that he is not a leader but a wolf that disguised himself in sheeps skin. Let us leave the wolf with the wolves (Taye and his “Keysi” company). They will spend the rest of their lifes in their “cages” lusting for meat.

What a shame!!
That is why we were supposed to raise tens of million dollars when the Kinijit delegation led by Birtukan Mideksa was here in the States. Unfortunately, we raised pennies. We were supposed to raise $500 per person cash. We didn’t. What a shame! We know how to whine and complain. But when it comes to doing, we said NO. I don’t care how much and what every body brags about freedom and democracy day in day out. Unless I see it in action, I won’t believe it. When the delegation was present among us here in America, it was the best opportunity to make a statement with our MONEY by raising million of dollars. But it didn’t happen. That is evidence for me that most of us have no clue what we are talking about. We are just a bunch of day dreamers. We want other people to do the job for us. We want to sit here in the US having fun, safe and sound, and making all the money we want by working three jobs. But we want other people to die and suffer for us. And yet, we don’t even want to pay for it. This is evidence beyond the shadow of doubt that we are not ready to free our people and ourselves from the Weyane tyranny. Most of us are stupid fools and we think freedom is cheap. Hey, freedom ain’t cheap. Most have paid their lives let alone their money. That simple. Every talk and every analysis is nothing but hot air. We have nothing to proove for it.
During the fundraising, we held on to our money so tight that it won’t be an exaggeration to call the fundraising effort a failure. That tells me we are not ready to fight and win our freedom. Listen, the tyrants in Ethiopia are getting older and becoming senior citizens infront of our eyes. Killer Zenawi was 35 or so when he starting sleeping in Arat Kilo palace. Now he is 53 and still going strong while we are in deep sleep-snoring and slumbering. If we don’t wake up fast, not only he will kill our people for another 25 years but his son or his successor will do the same.
Are we ready for our freedom? If we are, let us show it by supporting the movement with our money if not by our lives. If we can’t, the best thing is to shut up and die as a slave and as a coward-miserable and depressed.
That fundraising that was conducted during Kinijit’s delegation visit is a total failure. It has to be conducted again through Kinijit chapters all over the world. This time it is going to be $500 per person cash and if this crowd who is crying about freedom and democracy thinks $500 is too much then you can forget the fundraising. That means they are not ready for freedom. We will wait until they are ready.
It is a good step.

This is a violation of public trust. In deed this is a very sad story. We Ethiopians should demand for restraints. I am specially concerned by the fact another Election is coming up.
I want Kinijit to stay in course. I would hope they would have much more commonsense to respect the party regulations and policies. I also hope they would appeal the suspension and try to resolve the case through the party rank and files.
No one is above the law. Let’s not go rush to judgment? They brought these crisis on themselves.This is unfortunate!? I can’t imagine that something like this would have had happen inside Kinijet? It seems to me none of them have the moral authority or the courage to stand up for the people of Ethiopia? I am specially concerned that they are willing to abandon those innocent party supporters who are still in ale and on the run from the fascist regime. We expect our leaders to be sensitive, responsible and less destructive.
