Woyanne executes Kinfe Gebremedhin's killer

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (Reuters) — The Woyanne regime in Ethiopia executed a military officer convicted of killing the country’s former head of security and immigration, the federal prison service said.

Major Tsehai Wolde Selassie was convicted of shooting dead Kinfe Gebremedhin, a close ally of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, outside an officers’ club in 2001.

“Major Tsehai was executed after his appeal for clemency to the Supreme Court was turned down and his death sentence was approved by President Girma Wolde Giorgise,” the Federal Prison Administration said in a statement.

The FPA did not say how Tsehai was executed but soldiers are supposed to face a firing squad, according to Ethiopian law.

  1. I hope the truth will not be buried with Major Tsehaye. After the incident in the Officers’ Club, there were several rumors making the rounds in Addis Ababa.

  2. It is no news of tragedy that Wayanes murder Wayanes, because in a dictatorship there is always strong below the surface tensions and extremely tightened nerves where life and death are only separated by the thickness of a razor blade.

You just want to get them first before they get you, whether the so called getting is real or imagined pathological sickness.

For example the CUD in the May 2005 episode almost got the dictator but lost in the game as to be gotten by the dictator and is now a sort of harmless playing article of fun game.

Instead, what is most tragic is the role of the so called president Girma Wolde Giorgise, a puppet figure head meant to excute all the dictator’s dirty criminal fuctions and thereby absorbe all the blames directed to the actual power holder. That is great shame, but the Ethiopian people and the whole world know as to who is behind all the brutalities.

This clearly reminds me of a certain known group of people called Roma or gypsy who have been and still being excluded and discriminated across the globe.

In former times, the Roma have been asigned exclusive functions and division of labour mainly to act as hangmen when ever criminals and political opponents were to be hanged by European governments. Otherwise they were not provided with education, employment or participate as civil society members.

On the contrary, they were always prosecuted, except when the task of hanging a person or persons came to be available. How does the uninformed general public view a group of people who have no job except hanging people?

Similarly, how do Ethiopians view the puppet President Girma Wolde Giorgise who have neither power nor any significant job other than periodically ordering the hanging of persons he has no background intimate knowledge of? Hmm!

  3. so sory for the president who aproved the Meles’s cangaroo court verdic. A president who doesn’t even be able to adress his parlament, who echos what others told him, who doesn’t even read and understand what is writeen on papers, commited the bigest sin in his late age. If i were him, i would rather empty my “power” thirsted gut and go to Zukala Abo or Debre Damo.

  4. I am sorry to Kinfe family be offer. How long time weyane play game of around his autority.

I can say all killed plan by weyane plan because of melese come to power all time killer his near friends.

This is character of weyane.all people know how melese and his gangister maffia.

  5. This opinion is against death penality in general.

It is very inhuman for a reasonable society to punish a ‘criminal’ what so ever with a death penality. The writer adheres that the whole principle of death penality should be abolished not only in Ethiopia but from the entire world.

Having said this, it would also seem naive to excecute death penality at this juncture in time when it is widely publicised that the government is in the process of pardoning thousands of prisoners.

What’s harder for the writer to swalow is His Excellency President Girma W/ Giorgis’ approval of a death penality in general.

    With due Respect
