CAIRO (apa) — Egypt announced on Tuesday preparations to invest on 20,000 hectares of land in Ethiopia, with a multimillion-dollar investment.
The announcement was made by the visiting Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr.Ahmed Nazif who is on a working visit to Ethiopia starting on Tuesday.
The Egyptian delegation assured the Ethiopian officials that Egypt was keen to be involved in various investment opportunities in the country.
The Egyptian PM said that the National Bank of Egypt will initially develop 20,000 hectares of land of agricultural products as from 2010.
According to state media reports, Egypt will invest the undisclosed amount of agricultural investment in the Afar regional state of Ethiopia, known for its livestock resources.
The two countries prime ministers held talks late on Tuesday on how to boost their trade and investment cooperation, which in the past few years was poor.
The Egyptian delegation also showed interest to invest in other areas such as drug manufacturing.
It was also reported that Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan are expected to reach an agreement on installation of electricity connectivity in the near future to link the three countries with hydroelectric power supply from Ethiopia, which is currently undertaking a multi-billion investment on hydroelectric projects.
Ethiopian Prime Minister tribal dictator Meles Zenawi and his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Ahmed Nazif also expressed their commitment to work together in the efforts to ensure benefits for the peoples of the two countries.

What is the responsibility of the Ethiopian Parliament on this matter? If they were not involved in decision making, what are they going to do now? Or is it only the madman–Meles’s decision? What is going to be left of Ethiopia, if the North East of Ethiopia is given to Egypt, North west of Ethiopia is given to Sudan and central and south of Ethiopia given to Saudi Arabia and other foreign investors? Isn’t there some kind of law to stop the madness and irrationality of Meles before he destroys and dismantles Ethiopia totally? Please somebody help me to understand, how could it be possible that one unelected dictator be making a decision of this magnitude in behalf of 80 million Ethiopians? Can Ethiopians hire an attorney and present our case in International Court to stop this madness?
Perhaps the ethiopian government should concentrate on it’s rightful claim on the water of the nile, before giving up land to the country which claim rights to that water.
With water one can farm, and people can feed themselves. With water, one can generate electrical power.

There is no law, national of international, that stops a dictator like Meles Seitanawi from selling his land or his people to foreign countries as far as he has the full support of the western countries, and the African states know he is one the favorite sons of Washington, and they could not criticize him for mistreating his people because most of them are the same like him.
The International Court has no ear or time to hear the sufferings of the Ethiopian people at home or in the Arab world, and Ethiopia cannot afford to hire an internationally recognized attorney to represent her painful case to International Court. Besides, how can Ethiopia bring to court a person who has amassed over 1.2 billion plus his wife Jezebel’s unaccountable wealth? One cannot defeat such a wealthy person in the court of law; however, we can destroy him by joining our Ethiopian Freedom Fighters and confiscate all his stolen money he has been pilling up for the last 20 years.
One day out of his madness, curiosity, and his hatred especially toward the Amhara and the Oromo people, he is going to afire the city of Addis Ababa, like that mad Emperor of Rome, (AD 64) Nero, and blame the fire on the Amhara and the Oromo people. Or he may poison himself and end his lascivious life; then Ethiopia will be free.

You don’t need to sale your land to foreigners to create jobs. There are hundreds of individuals or groups of Ethiopians who can do the same. You need to open your eyes and see beyond. Ethiopian parliament??? You mean Woyane Parliament? Woyane has majority of the sits and any disagreement with them would be voted out. Most of the paramilitaries are there to collect their salary. As long as they get paid they go along with their mater.

Do you know that Meles leases most of the Ethiopian lands to foreigners for 90 or more years? This is not attracting foreign capital investment. What is going on in Ethiopia, particularly in the last four years is baffling to the silent majority of Ethiopians. While we have an ongoing disagreements with Egypt on the use of the Blue Nile River for irrigation and harnessing the river to genrate electricity, to grant and/or sell land to Egypt in particular is a double jeopardy.
