An Addis Ababa neighborhood honors Bertukan Mideksa

The Ferensay Legacion area residents of Addis Ababa have awared the Vice President of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party (Kinijit) Bertukan Mideksa a brand new car on Saturday.

Bertukan MideksaFerensay Legacion is Wzt. Bertukan’s neighborhood. It is also an area that was savagely attacked by Woyanne tanks and Agazi special forces during the Nov. 2005 civil unrest when the residents tried to protect their favorite daughter from being taken away by security forces. To avoid further boodshed, Bertukan surrendered herself to the Woyanne, saving the neighborhood from Mogadishu-like devastation.

Also on Saturday, the Ferensay Legacion residents had organized a luncheon for the Kinijit leaders. Representing the party, Wzt. Bertukan and Prof. Mesfin gave speeches. Kinijit President Hailu Shawel could not attend the luncheon, but he was represented by his son, Shawel Hailu.

የቅንጅት ምክትል ፕሬዚደንት ብርቱካን ሚደቅሳ መኪና ተሸለሙ 

በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ በተለምዶ ፈረንሳይ ለጋሲዮን እየተባለ በሚጠራው አካባቢ የሚኖሩ ነዋሪዎች የአካባቢያቸው ልጅ ለሆነችው ወ/ት ብርቱካን ሚዴቅሳ መኪና በመሸለም ደስታቸውን ገለጹ፡፡ በተጨማሪም ከእስር ለተፈቱት የቅንጅት አመራሮች የምሳ ግብዣ አደረጉ፡፡ በግብዣው ላይ ፕሮፌሰር መስፍን ወ/ማሪያም እና ወ/ት ብርቱካን ንግግር አድርገዋል፡፡

ከቀኑ አምስት ሰአት ጀምሮ ነበር ግብዣውን ያዘጋጁት የአካባቢው ነዋሪዎች ጉድ ጉድ ማለት የጀመሩት፡፡ እንግዶቹ በተጠሩበት 7፡00 ሰአት ሲመጡ ግን አካባቢው በጩኅት ተናወጠ፡፡ ሁሉም ደስታውን በጭብጨባ መግለጽ ጀመረ፡፡

ዝግጅቱ ወደተደረገበት የቀበሌ እድር አዳራሽ ሲገባ አዳራሹ ውስጥ የተሰበሰበው ህዝብ ደስታውን የሚገልጽበት ስሜት ምናልባትም ከምርጫው በሓላ የመጀመሪያው የህዝብ ስሜት ሊባል የሚችል ነበር፡፡ ሁሉም ታዳሚ የቅንጅት አርማ የሆነውን የጣት ምልክት በማውጣት በፉጨት ደስታውን ይገልጻል

አዘጋጆቹ ንግግር ካደረጉ በሓላ የምሳው ግብዣ ሥነስርአት የተከናወነ ሲሆን ኣቶ ኃይሉ ሻውል ባለመገኘታቸው የተዘጋጀላቸውን ስጦታ በልጃቸው አማካኝነት ተሰተቸዋል፡፡

በተጨማሪም ለፕሮፌሰር መስፍን ወ/ማሪያም ስጦታ የተሰጠ ሲሆን ይህ ለሁለቱም የተሰጠው ስጦታ የቅንጅት አርማ የሆነው የጣት ምልክት የተቀረጸበት ዱላ ሲሆን ‹‹በትረ መንግስት›› ሲሉም ሰይመውላቸዋል፡፡

ለአቶ ሙሉነህ ኢዩኤል እና አቶ አለማየሁ ለተባለ የአካባቢቸው ወጣት ተጨማሪ ሥጦታን ከሰጡ በኋላ ለወ/ት ብርቱካን ሚዴቅሳ ሽልማት እንዳላቸው ተናገሩ፡፡ ህዝቡ ሽልማቱን ለማወቅ በከፍተኛ ጉጉት የጠበቀ ሲሆን ‹‹ጀግና›› ላለት የአካባቢያቸው ልጅ የመኪና ቁልፍ አስረከቡ፡፡ ህዝቡ ደስታውን በጭብጨባ ገለጸ፡፡

ወ/ት ብርቱካን ምን እንደምትናገር የጠፋት በሚመስል ስሜት በሁለት እጆችዋ አርማውን እያሳየች ከወገቧ በመጎንበስ ምስጋናዋን ገልጻለች፡፡ ወደ መኪናዋም በመሄድ የተሸፈነችበትን ጨርቅ ገልጣ ተረክባለች፡፡

አዘጋጆቹም ሽልማታቸውን ካጠናቀቁ በኋላ ‹‹አቅማችን ፈቅዶ ሁላችሁንም ብንሸልም ደሰ ባለን ነበር… ግን ለሁላችሁም የሚሆን አንድ ስጦታ አለን እሱም ልባችን ነው›› ብለዋል፡፡

ወ/ት ብርቱካን ሚዴቅሳና ፕሮፌሰር መስፍን ወ/ማሪያም ረዘም ያለ ንግግር አድርገው ፕሮግራሙ ተፈጽሟል፡፡

  5. Yes! Ferensay Legacion has been the flashing becon for decades. So many courageous brothers and sisters have died fighting the brutal Dergue. And now so many have died fighting Woyanne. Aren’t they, the one who fought Agazis when they come to arrest their beloved Birtukan?

    Yes!Ferensay Legacion knows how to fight and score. That’s why it used to be called 2nd Assimba during the red terror era of the Dergue.

  6. Thanks to almighty God for giving us such a leader like Birtukan Midekessa at this difficult time. Our queen Birtukan deserves that –great respect and appreciation. KINIJIT is love, peace, prosperity, democracy, unity. God blees Ethiopia and it’s children.

  8. I can not tell in words how I am happy about the whole event at Ferencay. God bless you all.

    But, after this amazing news, I heared the interview of Ato Bedru Adem and I become very depressed. When people are showing how ready they are to support the struggle, he start to talk about divisive issues in the Ethiopia’s CUD leadership within the framwork of the Diaspora politics. We need to say “STOP MR. BEDRU”.

  13. Appricate the people of Fernsay Lagacion. The community in the area is low income compared, but they have done this to show their love for Birtukan Midekessa and CUD. They have passed a message to the rest of Ethiopians who really want to see democaratic Ethiopia. Now the CUD leaders have shown the direction and path of the new Ethiopian and it will be the responsibility of the whole population. The true struggle has begain now. There is no time to stand and wait. Let’s act togather and change the image of the country. Thanks you to the Ferensay Legacion community… thank you again!! you have done good!! Stay strong! Birtu! CUD will remain the party of the people!!!

    Birtukan, I can’t say a word because my vocabulary do not allow me to.

  18. Thank you Ferensyoch!! You were there for your elected leader in the time of hardship and happiness. You made history. We diaspora have to learn a lesson. Our money has to go to the people in Ethiopia, not in the pocket of Leboch. By any means our money has to go to the true leaders and their suporters. GOD bless Ethiopia!
