MARYLAND (WUSA9) – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office have identified the three people, including an infant, who died after a shooting Wednesday night. Officials say they are 40-year-old Benyam Asefa, 42-year-old Barbara Giomarelli, and 3-month-old Samuel Asefa. Authorities say that Giomarelli is an Italian citizen and Asefa is an American citizen. Both were scientists and had been working on medical research. According to the LinkedIn profiles, Barbara was a PhDresearcher at University of Maryland and had spent time at the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology. Benyam, aslo known as Ben was a clinical immunologist who was a contractor supporting research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a graduate of McGill University. The incident happened before 8:50 p.m. in the 6800 block of Woods Court in New Market, Md., officials say.
