Sudanese armed forces have found a Chinese survivor of a group of nine colleagues kidnapped from an oil field nearly two weeks ago.
China’s government says four were killed after a botched rescue attempt earlier this week and three escaped with injuries.
Sudan’s news agency quotes an armed forces spokesman as saying an army patrol found the last two missing Chinese men, but one was dead.
The Chinese Ambassador to the African country says the survivor is in an acceptable condition, but needs care.
The Sudanese government blamed the kidnapping and killing on the Justice and Equality Movement, a Darfur rebel group.
The group denies the claim and diplomatic and tribal sources familiar with the issue say the kidnappers are a group of disaffected locals who probably wanted oil money.
