Representatives of concerned Ethiopians in the Washington DC Metro Area have hand-delivered a letter to the Saudi Arabia ambassador in Washington DC, Adel A. Al-Jubeir, today requesting his government’s urgent attention to the plight of 35 Ethiopian Christians in Saudi Arabia who have recently been rounded up and thrown in jail.
The representatives also requested a face-to-face meeting with Ambassador Al-Jubeir to express their concerns.
Concerned Ethiopians are also planning vigils and protest demonstrations at the Saudi Arabia embassy unless the Saudi government releases the detainees.
The 35 Ethiopians are thrown in jail for holding prayer in their private homes. Read more here.
