SEATTLE — Firefighters had to break holes in a second-floor ceiling to run hoses and put out a fire in the attic of a Seattle church building.

The fire was reported just after noon at the Amanuel Ethiopian church in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.

Lt. Sue Stangl (STANG’-ell) says it’s a two story wood frame building with three apartments on the upper floor. Everyone was out when firefighters arrived and no one was injured.

Stangl says there’s no word yet on the cause or the loss from the damage.
