Postby revolutions » 28 Jan 2010, 16:43

Many African and European newly wed couples are pouring to the Pearl of the Red Sea - Massawa - on a honeymoon trip and they have nothing but praise for the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere existing in Eritrea, and the welcoming hospitality of the people......

A leading tourist magazine on its recent issue had placed Eritrea the second tourist attraction in Africa next to the Safari of South Africa. The magazine indicated, each year thousands of international tourists visit Eritrea, an amount that far exceeds the combined total of tourists visiting Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Uganda. The Shaebian Red Sea is polluted with dangerous chemical wastes and oil pollution from the oil tanker, so the sun is one of the biggest attractions in Banana Republic!!!

revolution, if the Ereterean beaches are free of filthy Weyanes, then perhaps all Rthiopians may visit, just like we leave cell phones behind when we go for vacation, we would like to make sure your beaches are Weyane free zone, or else we are not coming into the same see where filthy Weyanes splash into.

Just like you, I used to be very jealous of our Eritrean neighbors. But not anymore. I realized jealousy is a disease responsible for all the low self-esteem, insecurity and inferiority complex issues we the people of Tigray are severely affected with. We should learn to appreciate the positive things about ourselves and our neighbors. In fact, You and I, as natives of Tigray, we should start learning from our Eritrean neighbors on how to cultivate self-confidence and be gracious and proud of what God has blessed us with.

Thank you Tigray lady

God Bless Ethiopia

I am not jealous of the love you have for Eritrea and I know Asmara is a clean city compared to Addis Abeba, but what are the tourist attractions of Eritrea other than sun and the most polluted sea in the world? Nothing, this banana republic is not safe for anyone let alone a tourist!!!

AL, this shows how little you know about Eritrea. But you may be excused since you are not from the immediate neighborhood. Last time I checked, you were an Arab kilis or was it Egyptians or something like that. BTW, any luck of finding out who your biological father is, was? just curious.

Eritrea declares its coastline a protected area

Coastline: 2,234 km (mainland on Red Sea 1,151 km, islands in Red Sea 1,083 km)

Tuesday, December 12, 2006

Soon, Eritrea will be one of the world's first nations to protect its entire coastline. In an ambitious plan to protect it's extensive (over 1,151 km) mainland coast and over 300 islands.

The Minister of Fisheries, Ahmed Hajj Ali, revealed that a National Policy regarding the coastline of Eritrea, and its sustainable development had been formulated with the input of partners and experts.

"Eritrea will be the first country in the world to declare its entire coastline a protected area," said Dr Michael Pearson, a specialist in environmental management. The plan requires a corridor of sustainable development 100 m.

Apart from the beaches and desert coasts of Eritrea the project will include protection for the hundreds of kilometres of coral reefs and mangrove forests while simultaneously protecting inland watersheds.

It is also suggested within the policy that this will lead to the creation of new National Parks and Reserves as well as well as permanently protected coastal and marine areas.
