Do Ethio Elites Care about Eri Independence?

Postby Hawileyto » 25 May 2012, 00:10

So, ayte Semere and other Ethiopians keep on telling us that they have nothing but brotherly love for Eritreans. Really? They are also quick to state that the "Eritrean independence" is Fait acompli and they just want the Eritreans to stop bragging about their country. Fair enough. But, is that all there is to it? By the way, is it a crime to brag? Anyway, if that was the general political position of the Ethiopian elites, why is it that no Ethiopian organization, group or personality have bothered to congratulate us on this day of our independence or the previous ones? Does that argument hold water? To me and to many who had followed the disingenuous mentality of the Ethiopian Diaspora, it doesn’t!!!!

Please have your say...

People like to believe their mom is the kindest mom in the world and their baby is the cutest. It is healthy and natural also to believe your nation is special. If most people in a country don't then there is a problem.

Most Ethiopians and Eritreans are very proud of their respective countries so I don't believe there is a problem.

A fighter who had officially won a boxing bout asking for a rematch on the ground that his opponent has refused to recognize his win, deserves neither respect nor a rematch.

Why do you expect congratulation from Ethiopians? It was not peacefully we went our separate way. Until you flooded the form how many Ethiopians even knew it is your independence. Get over it and go on with your celebration.
