I was near awelia mosque on Friday. There were thousands of people wearing T shirts that defies the regime latest spin. Informed security forces stayed away which shows they are trying to avoid confrontation. For TPLF who is known to stomp any opposition with brute force this is no less than capitulation. The whole situation is that TPLF is not in a position to survive any confrontation with the people. The people seem to be talking their time too. Every defiant act seems deliberate and they seem to choose a confrontation that is less likely to cause any disruption of public order yet pushes TPLF out of the playing field. It is rather a deliberate instead of an emotional resistance. An old taxi driver I spoke to said "the cup is filling for Meles". The regime is nervous. If I were the head of security chief of Addis Ababa, I would tell the head of the Mosque either the Mosque should a place of prayer or will be shut down for good and all the Muslim leadership in the Mosque will be held accountable and put in prison like Issayas does to the church leaders.
