Somali-Ethiopians are certainly not going to just sit back passively and let Tigreans steal their oil and gas, I am pretty sure they are not one to sit back and watch, just like We Oromo do.

Every person none Somali will stand shoulder to shoulder more than ever to hold Ogaden and Ethiopia union for the sake of every once advantage. Smelling Gas and Oil to Ethiopia 90 million people is like a hungry female hyena showing her blood and fresh meat and she will not touch it and leave the seen. Any Gas and Oil in Ogaden is not only beneficial for Tigray but it is going to be for everyone 80 Ethiopian ethnics.

As far as Smali fighters, they are still fighting and the Somalis believe over $100 billion dollars worth of minerals are underneath of Ogaden and that is the sole motivation they have been fighting. If they find massive Oil then from every ethnic of Ethiopians will settle in Ogaden and will finish the fighter from the region.

Suppose there is enoguh oil under the Ogaden desert to pump out a million barreles a day, then at the current price of roughly $90/barrel. that will work out to $90 million a day. The population of Ogaden is not definitely known, some say its around 4 million, others say 7 million. But let's take the higher figure, which works out to about $12/person in oil revenue. $12 is not much, but it can greatly improve the lives of the Ogadenis there who have always led a very harsh life.

But if the oil revenue were to be distributed throughout Ethiopia it will work out to a little more than one dollar a day per person. it simply doesn't make economic sense for the Ogadenis to share the wealth with us, and it is not worthwhile for us to ask they share it. That's one of the reasons i have no interest in sharing the Ogaden oil revenue, even if the Ogadenis were to offer to share it.

I have a lot of business ideas that can truly prosper the Amhara people, we can make a lot more than $12/person per day, if business can be allowed to flourish. We haven't even taken advantage of NEPAD, which would have been worth more than a hundered billion dollars in the the last ten years alone. The Ogadenis can keep all the oil and minerals, we have our own ways of making wealth if we only can find a way to toss away the albatross of unity that is crippling us.

I wish Ogaden would be free, because we would be free too from one more headache.

Let me as you this HM, how would you feel if large deposits of crude oil were to be discovered in Tigray and Ogadenis were to put a gun to your head demanding that you share it with them.

I never suggested Ethiopians or the Government should do one way or the other but my post was what Ethiopians will do in the future if oil is found. What you are saying is what you want to see and what the politician should do that is your opinion and I have not given my own opinion about the Ogaden. History tells me that Ethiopians under different leadership fought to keep Ogaden as part of Ethiopia and the speculation of Oil has been there for years and the sole motivation of wars between Somalia and Ethiopia and the guerrilla war have been for minerals resources.

In my opinion EPRDF mad huge mistake at the beginning allowing Somalia people to mingle with Somali Ethiopias in our soil and the Somalia kids born in Ogaden are fighting Ethiopia today and the population increased dramatically.

BTW, there is huge oil in Gojjam, Wello and Tigray per the survey found about four years ago. I saw Meles meeting Wello villagers in Wello Woredas during the last campaign and they were asking him when is the oil to come out to market from Wello. Meles told them it takes for years to pull it out from the ground.

Your country Tigray and Ogaden don't share a border, Tigray is a country geographically located in north Ethiopia not east Ethiopia, We Oromos share more than 1600 km of border with Ogaden.

Tigray is your country, Get this through your head you!!

You seem to have suggested Ogadenis must fight for their union with Ethiopia, in my view that's out of the question. When Woyane arrived Meles promised the Ogadenis that they will be allowed to govern themselves from then on. When the Ogadenis heared that they all shouted Allah Akbar! in unison. That was the clear sign they don't want to be governed by any ethnicity other than their fellow somali. Now that the bloodshed in Ogaden has escalated, the Ogadenis simply don't trust Woyane. So don't expect the Ogadenis to fight for unity with Ethiopia, they are likely to fight for the opposite cause.

I just don't understand it, how can the Tigrayans who fought for their independence for 17 years fail to see the Ogadenis are demanding the same thing tens of thousands of Tigrayans fought and died for.

You say Woyane allowed Somalis to mingle with Ogadenis, don't you know Ogadenis are Somalis? To an Ogadenis a Somali from Moqadishu is the same as his brother, so it is perfectly natural for him to welcome his Somali brother. Meles even renamed the entire Harerge province to Somali. If Woyane recognizes the Somali kilil as Somali, then how can it prevent Somalis from entering it. It is Somali soil by Woyane's own admission, you can't call it "our soil" unless you are a Somali.

If there is oil in Gojja and Wollo, then i am afraid Woyane can't pump it out, it will lead to a lot of trouble.

Oromo Queen,

I don't have to define me like you do whether I am Oromo, amaras, Guraghe, Tigray, etc.. I understand that I share my environment other than my own ethnic groups and therefore peace and prosperity is essential for everyone regardless your ethnicity. By the way you are not Oromo you are Shaebia or TPLF. For a minute you caught me off guard that you support all ethnic groups when you posted Oromo children being taught hate and I thought you posted in opposition to that apparently you are supporting that. It is not me who will be living and your children living in constant war if you seem proud of teaching your children hate. It will come to bite you sooner or later. BTW if you are an Oromo which I doubt, the old map you posted is prove enough there was no region called Oromo but [deleted] which does not mean an insult. so keep on hating.

Halafi Mengedi,

You are the most confused person, one minute you advocate secession next minute uinity. In reality, you need to choose one or the other you can put your one leg inside and the other leg outside of the room. By the way, your throught knowledge in Eritrea and tigray doesn't mean you have knowledge in the South or Addis. I understand everytime you discuss, it is in the context of Tigray or Eritrea. You might be a good ambassador to Eritrea or Tigray but not really the rest of Ethiopia. Your knowledge is very limited outsider of your ethnic groups. The horrror of these pro ethnic groups they could bring to the people! God save us!

Well, I'm of mixed ethnicity, my mother is Agew and my father is Oromo. I have never hidden my ethnicity.

And your point is? there was neither Amhara region nor Tigray region, but Abyssinia, please try to make sense next time.
