June 28: To stop CUD’s withdrawal from the vote result probing process, election board chairman, Ato Kemal Bedri, had asked and received a list of CUD members who are under arrest. Ato Kemal indicated that the government might be willing to release on bail some of those who are under arrest. But as of today, all the 420 CUD members who are in prison are not released. On top of that, there are thousands of CUD supporters who are still in jail through out the country. More are being arrested every day. CUD will have an executive committee meeting today to make a final decision on whether to withdraw from the process, Ato Gizachew Shiferaw, a high level CUD officials, told ER this morning.
June 27 – 4:00 PM: UEDF official Wzr Almaz Seifu has been released. She told ER a few hours ago that her captors have released her earlier today… This has been a strange case. After reading the news on ER, the Addis Ababa police called the ONC officials in Addis Ababa. But ONC denied to the police any knowledge of the story. Based on this, the police issued a statement yesterday saying that the news is a fabrication. ONC (a UEDF member party and of which Wzr Almaz is a Vice President) refused to give any statement to the press on this matter. The good news is that Wzr Almaz is now free, and can explain what happened to her.

June 26: In the town of Chagni (Awi Zone), heavily armed EPRDF cadres rounded up 200 CUD members, and they are now holding them at the Capacity Building Office of the zone. Among the detained are CUD representatives in the area, Ato Simeneh Worku and Ato Minayeh Shiferaw.
June 25: The Vice Chairperson of Oromo National Congress and UEDF top leader, Wzr. Almaz Seifu, has been arrested today. She was picked up by Meles Zenawi’s gunmen while she was waiting for a taxi in front of Berhan ena Selam Printing Press in Addis Ababa…
ER was able to reach Wzr Almaz on her mobile phone at 4:30 PM (local time). She told ER that she is being held some where in the Nefas Silk area. She sounded very upset, but resolute. At 5:00 PM we lost contact with her. It seems that her phone is taken away … comments

June 28: Ato Getnet Koku, the administrator of Lay Armacho (a suburb of Gonder), is becoming notorious for his brutal treatment of students of the Gonder area schools. He has become the Melaku Tefera of EPRDF. It seems that he enjoys tormenting the people of Gonder, particularly the students. He put so many of them in jail, that prisons are full. He savagely beats and tortures them. Let’s call him and let him know that the world is watching him. Let’s tell him that his crimes are being documented worldwide. June 27 – Update on Wzr Almaz: ER spoke with Wzr. Almaz’s family today. They said she is still not found. The family don’t know where she is, and they are surprised by the Police response.

ER spoke with Wzr. Almaz directly on her mobile phone. She told ER that she’s been picked up and taken to the Nefas Silk area. As of today no one knows where she is. So where is Wzr Almaz? Instead of rushing to call the story a fabrication, why don’t the police do their job and find her?
